The egg, because the chicken gradually evolved from other species, and would therefor have to be born from an egg.

The egg came first! Chickens are related to the T-Rex, which laid eggs. The chick would have had to evolve from some weird, prehistoric bird-like creature. That creature laid eggs. Therefore, the egg came first.

I would say egg,because dinosaurs came before chickens,and they laid eggs. (Unless dinosaurs were not real,or did not lay eggs and all the bones discovered from dinosaurs were made with moulds,but,to be honest,I am not expecting thats true. Even if it was,many animals that came before the chicken,MUST of laid eggs somehow.) But if it was 'Which came first the Chicken or the Chicken egg' then Chicken would be the answer,because,in the end,egg could mean any egg.
