Ok I can already feel the love here <3 personally I'm an aethiest (but all my friends are Christian xD) but yes, I love this thread already <3
So I don't really want to be intrusive or annoying or any of the such but... ;o;
Like, er, I was *wondering* like, how do you guys feel when science is put up as a *fact*. Like its a *fact* that people evolved from apes, but to you guys Adam and Eve are a *fact*
So yesh... Just kinda wondering what you guys think.... Lol xD
Anyways you guys are cool ;3 xD

Um, I don't know about that. We don't want any arguing to start. I know you probably don't intend for that to happen, but there's always a chance someone will take it the wrong way and . . . yeah. It might be best to limit that.

You mean generally, or individually? In general, we're meant to spread God's Word and worship Him and bring Him glory. We're meant to be His servants, but treat Him as a friend and a father. As for individually, well, I believe I was meant to be a writer.
Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Ikaaaaaaaaa wrote:Hi guys! So someone recently asked me a question on my Tumblr- and I'm absolutely stumped on how to answer it. Essentially, their friend has terminal cancer and is soon going to die, but isn't saved. This person has tried to introduce them to Christianity multiple times, but the friend wants nothing to do with it. They're basically asking how they can help their friend to be saved, despite them closing themselves off to religion.

Bible verses and/or advice would be much appreciated <3

Personally, I would quote the "Romans Road". It's a few really cool, John 3:16-like verses that all build on each other to basically state the reason for salvation and the way to accept it. From what I remember, it consists of Romans 3:23, 5:8, 6:23, and 10:9-10. Hope that helps C:

I believe that the Bible is truth, being the Word of God and everything else is debatable. If it comes into conflict with something God said then I tend not to put so much weight on it :3 Because a lot of evolutionary theories totally take God out of the equation, I don't hold them as truth because God is truth so without Him there is no truth. In the Bible, it says God made man in His own image and set us apart from all other creations so if we were to come from monkeys, I guess that would be contrary to God's Word? Of course, I'm not going to bash someone on the head for believing in evolution because it's their belief. I just don't want my belief to be squandered because I also believe everyone has a right to voice their own opinion, whether it be we came from God or an evolutionary process. C: Hope that answers your question. I can't speak for anyone but myself; my view isn't everyone's view.

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand
Will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You've never failed and You won't start now

So I will call upon Your name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

There is a song by Toby Mac called Made to Love that I think answers part of this question. Here are some if the lyrics

I was made to love you, I was made to find you
I was made just for you, made to adore you
I was made to love and be loved by you

You were here before me, you were waiting on me
And you said you'd keep me, never would you leave me
I was made to love and be loved by you

I also think that there are other things that we are intended to do. I'm not sure what else I feel called to do right now, and I just have to trust God to lead me there.

PS. I'm praying for you all <3
Hi all! I'm (hopefully) back from a very long absence. So sorry for leaving you all hanging! I won't be online as often as I used to, but I'll be around :)

It is my goal to collect every butterfly wolf, please send me a trade to help me reach this goal!

I think it's teaching the word to children. I work really well with children, and I help out a lot with the children at my church. :3

Well, honestly, I don't really care.
That sounds so bad, but let me elaborate-
I am not a scientist, and I cannot go out and tell an evolutionary scientist he's wrong because the Bible says so. I simply don't have proof. Not that it doesn't exist, but I do not possess it.
To be honest, a scientist could tell me just about anything, and I would have positively no way to confirm or deny it.
He could tell me Australia doesn't actually exist.
And what would I say?
I've never been to Australia. I don't have proof Australia exists, but I still believe it.
It's same with the Bible. A scientist can tell me evolution is real, and the Bible isn't. I cannot give him contrary proof that I'm right. But I still believe it.

Also, it's important to note that not all Christians believe Genesis is literal.
And that's the other reason I said I don't care.
Because it doesn't actually matter if you believe in evolution or not.
You can be a Christian and believe in evolution.
Sure, people may claim you don't really believe in the Bible, because you don't take it at it's word, but the fact remains that if you believe in and accept Christ, you are a Christian.
God wasn't sending men to hell for thinking that the Sun rotated around the Earth.
And if someone is a Christian, and is wrong about the origin of the Earth (Whether evolution or not) God will not send them to hell for that either.

So it doesn't really affect your walk with Christ. It doesn't really matter. And I don't usually let their beliefs affect mine, or relationship with God.

But also, welcome. ^_^ You aren't annoying or intrusive- your question was actually very interesting to discuss.

Dont You think that all god wants us to do is love and know we are loved? If you really put it in perspective love I really all there needs to be... And to know you are loved by god yourself. (that to me is the meaning of life)

God does want us to love, but if we believe everything in Gods word is true, then we also need to share it with others. If we really believe it, then wouldn't it be hate not to tell others?

Well, God actually asks a lot from us.
i suppose if you were to simplify it, yes, he did say the most important laws are love God and love others.
But there are ways he asks us to do that.
Care for the poor, for one. He tells us whatever we do for even the least of these men, you do for Him.
He asks us to spread His word, so that others can know the message and be saved through Him.
And other rules that, though are acts of love, are more... involved than simply an emotion like "I love you."
He wants us to ACT on our love, and shows us ways we can do that.
