I notice this a lot on the language board.

The "I JUST STARTED TAKING THIS LANGUAGE AND I KNOW VERY LITTLE OF IT BUT I'LL TEACH YOU HOW TO SPEAK AND WRITE IN IT!!!" boards.

If you don't know the language that well, and you just started taking it, DON'T OFFER TO TEACH IT. You'll probably give very wrong lessons. Mostly people teaching Japanese do this.

On the subject of Japanese: Stop making topics that basically amount to "I LEARNED JAPANESE FROM ANIME! I'LL TEACH YOU JAPANESE!" because I guarantee you everything you will tell me will A, be completely wrong, or B, so informal if you dared to use it when speaking to someone you don't know, you'll offend them.

One girl in my Japanese class learned all her Japanese from Inuyasha and loved to flaunt it. She spoke to the teacher in Japanese she learned from anime, and the teacher told her she was speaking very informally, which when speaking to a superior like a teacher is VERY offensive and insulting.

I find using any language you don't know well to be a very risky business. A friend of mine has Chinese inlaws, and when she was visiting them they offered her second helpings at supper. She tried to say something like 'Sorry, I am full', and instead said 'Sorry, your food has killed me'. XD Inflections are important sometimes...

Japanese is a very tricky language. They say everything in a different structure to ours, and usually put names first, etc, etc. I can pick up a few words from anime, like Hello, Thanks, Liar{Thanks Higurashi}, etc, etc. But that's it. And also, some words could have 2 meanings, or the pronouciation could be very different to the word itself.

On one show, I heard "Skida" when someone said I love you. When someone said I like you {Friends}, they said the same thing. The phrase for I love you is Daisuke (I think), but I have no clue how to pronouce it. Besides, I've seen 2 anime scene's, both exactly the same, but they had different subtitles. So not all Anime subs are correct. Also, with a song by Miku Hatsune from Vocaloid. Some people translate it as 2 faced lovers, while some translate it as Opposite lovers, while with both video's I watch, the lyric translation was totally different.

False links annoy me....First it was fun, but now it annoys. I hover over a link now before to click it, so it can check if it's a actual thread and not soul-stealers

Using some foreign fragments like Konichiwa(hello), Gomen(sorry), and Gomen Nasai(I'm sorry) are ok. But full length wannabe fragments are notsafe to try.

I would never dare use Japanese in real life, since I learned it all from anime. XDD

to get back on topic, it annoys me when an author takes A VERY LONG TIME to make more books(this also applys to manga...).

What annoys me is when I went to Barnes and Noble to get the next Yu-Gi-Oh manga I needed (6), I went to the shelf and the numbers they had were 1,2,3,4,5, and 7. I was just like "-.- Really?" I know I could've reserved it, but I don't normally have a car and it's in a city 30 minutes away.
