I HAVE A QUESTION!
TYPE OF QUESTION: fst
YOUR QUESTION: we're working with the qudratic formula and graphing, so we need to find the zeroes. i can't figure out how to find the zeroes

the formula is 3x² - 6x + 2 = 0

i know how to start

6 ± √(-6)² - 4 (3) (2)
------------------------------
2 (3)

I can get to

6 ± 2 √3
-------------
6

But I can’t figure out how to find the zeroes, which are (1.6, 0) and (.42, 0)

You got it right! That's the alkane formula.
Alkene is CnH2n, and alkine is CnH2n-2

The +/- sign indicates that there are two numbers in one expression.
    First calculate (6 + 2 √3)/6, then (6 - 2 √3)/6, and 1.6 and .42 should be the two values you get.

The sum formula for tan(A + B) is as follows:
(tanA + tanB)/(1 - tanA*tanB)

Therefore:
tan(A + B) = (tanA + tanB)/(1 - tanA*tanB) = 3

Plug in 1/2 for tanB:
(tanA + (1/2))/(1 - tanA*(1/2)) = 3

Multiply both sides by (1 - tanA*(1/2):
tanA + (1/2) = 3*(1 - tanA*(1/2))

Distribute:
tanA + (1/2) = 3 - (3/2)tanA

Move like terms together. Subtract 1/2 from both sides and add (3/2)tanA to both sides:
tanA + (3/2)tanA = 3 - (1/2)

Simplify:
(5/2)tanA = 5/2

Multiply both sides by 2/5:
tanA = 1
