Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Debate

Are the monkeys discovering how to hold their breath or being taught? That is not evolution they just learned something new no part of them changed or became better.

Well they could be evolving into some kind of mammal under water you just have to think of the future but ya it is a bit far fetched...

I'm pretty sure the underwater monkey thing is just a really good example of animals teaching each other odd behaviors. As far as I'm aware they aren't physically any different than other monkeys of the same species that don't dive.

Kinda like how people who do diving aren't evolving into aquatic animals.

(someone correct me if i'm wrong on the monkeys not being physically different thing)

well i was using the monkeys as an example because see how we learned to dive if you believe in cave men and stuff, they were actually afraid of water and example of evolution is that since they grew into using the water as a source monkeys evolving into using water as a source, is evolution.... i think...

Birds came from dinosaurs, as we all know.

So the dinosaur would have laid an egg that was mutated in a very slight way, in which that dino-bird will then lay another egg. Through generations, the 'laid egg' will have more and more "bird dna" and eventually become a new species, the bird. Which then turns into a chicken.

So, the dinosaur laid the egg and therefore the egg came first.

well jungle fowl if you believe in evolution because it had the first chicken egg... i think...

I'd say, by the time chickens had evolved to be chickens, and chickens laid chicken eggs, both of them were there and we'd need a time machine to really find the first TRUE chicken and TRUE chicken egg because I guess nobody can really tell...

Well, Jungle fowl are basically the "wild version" of chickens. I don't believe chickens evolved on their own, I believe we created chickens via selective breeding. When species evolve, it's to improve the species or take away things they no longer need. People still own Jungle fowl today.

We wanted eggs, we bred them to give us eggs once a day. We wanted meat, we bred them to produce more meat than ever.
