Christmas used to be quite a big positive for me when I was younger. I loved the presents, getting food and hanging out with family members I didn't get to see all too often. However, nowadays it's been slowly headed towards the negatives. I'm still semi neutral about it, but I've started to notice a heavy feeling as each Christmas rolls around. It's not as fun, there's not a huge amount of joy in getting with family anymore. Everyone fights, families are broken, and I just feel so distant. I do try to keep a little bit of positive though. I still love the Christmas lights, getting delicious food, and this year I get to go to a work Holiday party for the first time (like an actual big event work party, not just a small right before work starts party), so that's a huge plus for me. Finding at least one or two positives can at least make Christmas less of a challenge :]

I usually love Christmas, I'm the type to put decor etc up at 12am on Nov 1, but this year its been such a struggle - starting university and having exams coming up already means I've had very little time and money to buy presents and going through a recent breakup at the same time so its all just been stress for me this year. I am looking forward to spending time with my family though, I'm sure I'll feel better about it tomorrow :)

I at least like the idea of it, but my families always really tense this time of year, and this year my dad got COVID which is... less than ideal.

my family always put sooo so much pressure on creating the "most perfect christmas" with them then weaponizing each act of kindness, which made me despise anything even remotely related to winter holidays starting at a particularly young age. only this year i've started having a somewhat more positive outlook on it despite the bad aspects

It's a season that brings out celebrations, time with family, and exchanging warm moments of kindness. The season brings out all the magic with its lively decorations, music, and traditions. It, however, stirs loneliness, stress, or sadness among others due to separation, stress, or pressure in other matters. 8-)

I love christmas in itself, but its also uncomfortable in a way. I have a pretty huge family, and have to drive from one side of my state to another (and back) to see them. round trip its about 40 hours.
i also hate both getting and receiving gifts. it's not because I'm selfish, but because I hate having to worry about what to get everyone. I'm still a student, so I don't exactly have a budget of $200 per person, especially in this economy. I also have no clue what to get anyone because (for some reason) no one makes wishlists. receiving gifts is so uncomfortable too - I'm a pretty deadpan person and have terrible rbf, so when I get something I really like, all I can say is "oh thanks" when in reality I really appreciate it.
but traditions and decorating and baking and doing everything is so much fun to me. seeing family is amazing, it's just the roadtrip there haha - so Christmas in itself is fun, but I guess the stress of it isn't lol - but that's enough of my rant ^^"

I have mixed feelings. It's like you wait all year long for the day that everyone hypes up, your excited to see what you get and you spend time making a list for people to follow, only for you to be disappointed when they got literally nothing on your list. I don't want to sound ungrateful, I really am happy for the gifts, but why bother asking me for a list when you don't even glance at it?
It just feels like a waste of time. But on the plus side I love setting up for Christmas and placing the multi color lights and reindeer with my family so it's not all bad
