That doesn't even matter with the chicken thing though.
We made chickens. There isn't any debate as to if they evolved or not. Humans domesticated them from red jungle fowl.

I'm a Christian, and I believe in evolution.

I also believe the egg came first.

In the bible, it states that god sent down two of each, he created two, a male and a female, so that they could produce the egg. Therefore I believe the chicken came first.

Though my best friends told me once that a unicorn went up to the clouds and brought down the chicken and the egg at the same time (lol)

I definitely say egg. I believe in evolution, so yes indeed, no bird poofed into a chicken in the middle of its life. So somewhere down the line some lucky bird laid a chicken egg.

But it wouldn't be a quick change like that, just within one generation. It would've taken many generations to make what we call a chicken. Scientifically speaking.

I love how no one yelled "OMG U DUN BELEEV WUT I DO U R SOO RONG!" Hugs for everyone!

Okay. I say a female chicken came first. Then a male chick hatched from that egg and chicken became the flavor of 99% of all food >.> But seriously about the first part: female chicken, male chick hatches from egg >.> I don't believe in evolutioin, so in my belief, chickens didn't evole from dinos...there's just no way that a bird came froma reptile...that's like saying humans evolved from fish...Just impossible in my oppinion...x3

I agree with you, but I keep in mind that God might have not sent down adult chicks, they could have been chicks (that were already hatched).

The dinosaur came first! XD

I think the dinosaur laid an egg that became a chicken (through evolution). ... But then we have the "what came first, dinosaur or egg?" lols
Sorry for my slow response time on RP's. My new job steals ALL my time. :(

I just want to point out that dinosaurs are not reptiles. Birds and dinosaurs actually aren't too different, in fact some dinosaurs had feathers, beaks, and wings (pterodactyl, oviraptor). This is really a discussion for a different thread though ^-^

Personally, I have always thought that the egg came first, for the same reasons that others have already mentioned. I believe that chickens evolved from dinosaurs, so a mutated egg containing a chicken came from whatever kind of bird/dinosaur that chickens evolved from.

EDIT: Okay, I have to correct myself as I did some more research. Pterodactyls aren't actually dinosaurs, they are from a different group of ancient animals, and birds did not evolve from pterodactyls. A better example that I should have used is the archaeopteryx, an early bird which shares some features with both birds and dinosaurs. It is believed among scientists that these were actually the dinosaurs that birds evolved from, if they evolved from diosaurs.
