A lot of times the term 'demon' is associated with negative thoughts or Hell(if you're of the Christian faith), but like Applefiend said, a lot of people follow the fad that evil=cool. Or something like that....I'm pretty neutral about them. I like the evil side- they have cookies because I think there should always be a balance.
Plus, Good Omens. Crowley=demon=ftw. XD

Didn't I say that? >.< Perhaps I should have used the word strictly before "only" in that sentence. And if you have never heard of religions with a wide spectrum of demon or demon-like entities, I suggest you study other religions a bit more closely. The strictly negative connotation of the word "demon" spread with Catholicism and related religions. In the pre-Islamic Middle East, gods and demons were essentially the same thing, and the jinn (a very minor type of demon) were potentially good or bad. Also from the Middle East, the demon Alawamis was thought to drive
away evil and disease. The ancient Greeks thought demons were essentially demigods and, like the jinn, could be good or bad. Just to name a few.
