you do NOT by ANY means need to be good at drawing to design your fursona. A lot of people think this, but really all you actually do to design it is add random markings that somehow represent you, then you colour it in in certain colours and voila! A fursona! A bit longer process then that though.
YOu can also print off lineart of the species to design it on. That's what I did before I was good at drawing.

Well i for one think fursona/personas should be created by yourself because no one knows you better then yourself.
For example my Persona is a guy medieval lord vampire i'm a girl but he is my personality non the less, resently i changed him to a grey wolf making him a fursona.

My fursona was designed by me, but I did ask for a little help with choosing between species. In the end, I think I had between 4-7 species I couldn't choose between because all of them represented me in some way. Eventually, I settled on a genet, and designed her completely by myself. I think it is much more special if you design your 'sona yourself, than if someone else does it. I'm probably going to be keeping mine for a lot longer than I would if someone else had designed her for me.

I don't honestly think it matters.
Sure, no one is ever goung to get you down exactly if you give them a description of yourself, but it's not completely wrong or terrible to do that. The definition of a fursona varies with who makes one. To you it may be a design that is YOU and everything about it is as well. To others its a wolf with colorful designs that other people can make.
there's not set definiton of one, and no reason to get worked up over it. People think it's wrong to put so much thought into them as well. It's just a matter of opinion.

Yea, I don't get upset when people do that, it's just a bit sad in my mind, because they won't want them as long and their next one will probably not be as special either because they didnt' have it as long. Puting a lot of thought into it is great in my mind though!
