Alright, I'll try to make this as short as possible. Basically, I'm wondering as to how artwork and/or graphics are copyrighted.
You see, my friend made a userbar for another website. She has quit the website since then and wants the userbar taken off, as she has made and designed it. My question is that if the website continues to use the userbar without permission, should anything be done to address this issue? My friend does not want to get involved with the law, but she would like some information on this matter.
All help will be greatly appriciated. ^^; Thank-you very much in advance!

http://www.copyright.govYour friend's work MAY fall under "work for hire." This would mean that the userbar she created "for the website," as you put it, belongs to the website owner as far as copyright is concerned.
If I take a photograph, the copyright belongs to me. But if I take a photograph at work because my boss needs something photographed, that copyright belongs to my boss.
However, I am not an internet lawyer.

Or any other kind!
