What would be your dream Summer Event theme??

There's really nothing wrong with the theme imo, plenty of things use it. If you're really that upset by it simply don't participate ¯\_(°3°)_/¯
Tons of people really like the idea of it too. I don't understand wanting to "protect" the site from it?? There are plenty of games that use the theme and are still incredibly family friendly. I also don't see how it's not appropriate given this day and age? The world ending is not around the corner? It's not like the CS staff would be making horrible bloody pets? This site is, and has always been, perfectly fine for children. One summer event won't change that. That's like saying the cryptids from the last summer event were bad and ruined the site because a 13 year old saw it.
The slumber party event didn't ruin it because of the Nightmare theme. The space event didn't harm anyone with the alien designs. The Halloween events have had their share of "not innocent" designs such as the green witch bunny (which has anti-semetic history). One event will not ruin anything for anyone. It seems rude to say no one else can have fun with this event/theme. Some people are grossed out by bugs but it's not like they've been banned from the site? Spiders, rats, scorpions, and snakes haven't ruined this for anyone.

Point is, this theme is fine and several people really want it. The theme is already on the site, sp obviously the staff doesnt think its inappropriate. From oekaki, to role-playing, to even items and pets from past events. There's nothing wrong with it. I strongly support this theme. An Apocalypse is a hypothetical, and that's all there is to it.
Being so against the event idea because it's "inappropriate" simply isn't a valid reason.

Inappropriate as in the actual real wars going on currently? I obviously won't go in deeper about them here.

Aliens and cryptids are incredibly different from a potential reality, or a reality now to those in living in their country's conflict. (Or know someone who does.)
Cryptids are obviously fictional and not real.
Honestly I was shocked with the item set from last Halloween, and I didn't think it was in good taste then.

I'd enjoy a medical event, but I absolutely know it would not be appropriate and have never even thought about suggesting it. There are plenty of people afraid or grossed out by hospitals, needles, machines, etc..
Maybe there are members who are frequently in and out of the hospital, and don't want something that's supposed to be fun reminding them they are sick!

I can find another way to enjoy my medical interests, without forcing them on others and expecting people to suck it up. Or telling them not to participate as if it's perfectly okay to alienate some people in order to get a specific theme.

The nightmares I have about fallout, apocalyptic settings, nuclear meltdown, whatever, make me afraid to sleep for days. And even if I didn't participate, as you so rudely suggested, the pets from that event will now be plastered everywhere, never being able to escape it.
This is the first year I've felt dread instead of excitement for a summer event.

I think a storybook one would be fun too! Travel through different well known stories and have pets based off them? That'd be so cool. 😊

wild west event would be so fun! or a few pages back someone suggested a ski lodge event, that'd be neat too. we haven't had like, a snowy cold weather summer event yet and i think the pets we could get from that would be cute!

or maybe some kind of cloud city way up in the sky, with lots of birds and pets with wings or lil flying machines! or omg imagine a dwarf hamster flying on a bird, kind of like the sea creature racing ones from the lost city event

an island themed event would also be fun, i'm thinking kind of a castaway situation on a mysterious island? the theme would be helping fix up avian's boat so we can make it back home! it would feel like a nice throwback to the 2012 beach event
