Wacom Tablets?

Postby Scaled and Icy » Wed Apr 06, 2022 6:25 pm

so uh, I'm trying to get back into drawing and I figured I would buy a Wacom One... I've always wanted one, but never was able to have one when I was growing up because my guardians were cheapskates.

Is it worth it? I'm thinking about trying to get one of the digital ones if I can find one within my budget.

Or are there any other digital tablets I could get that are decent quality for their price? I don't know what all I need for this, since I've never used one at all, but I am very interested.

My first tablet was a Wacom One, it worked well enough and got a ton of use from me.
Though, I would have probably not got a Wacom if I knew Huion was around at the time. A similar tablet to the Wacom one from Huion would be their Inspiroy H420X, its currently on sale as well! (gosh this sounds like an ad lmao) but that's just my preference.

I ended up getting a Wacom One digital tablet, because I liked the idea of being able to use it as a canvas. I paid just under $200 for it, (about $185)

I'm super excited for it to arrive, although I had to message a lot of sellers and have my offers turned down multiple times for a few hours, lol. But I finally got this beauty. Should arrive on the 17th of this month. Should I go ahead and find something to put over my hand so I don't mess up my drawings, or does it only work with the stylus?

Also, what did you use with it? Which drawing program? I've heard of a few and the best one I might try out is Fire Alpaca.
To be honest, I already use Sketchbook and I might purchase Procreate if it hooks up to Apple products like it says it should.

edit???? THIS IS A SICK GLOVE... I WANT

Oop it seems I got the tablet names mixed up haha, I had this kind of tablet (to be fair, they both come up when you search "Wacom one" dfhjskd) which I used with Paint Tool Sai and Medibang fsdf
I'm sure your tablet will connect to Apple products as long as you have the right USB, so Procreate would probably be the best you could get! I used it when I had an iPhone and wish I could go back to it now lmao

and YES that glove is amazing, I have one! It's all faded and the bones are starting to peal cause I've used it so much dsfsdf

I've owned my Intuos pen and touch since 2014, almost 7.5 years and i've never even had a single fault on it. It's so old that they don't make them anymore so I can definitely vouch that wacom's quality is amazing, and they're keeping their drivers up to date.
I'm considering the upgrade to their Intuos creative but not sure just yet. I'd say go for it, tablets are such an amazing investment !

i use a wacom one right now and its great! i have nothing but good experiences with wacom. wacom one is light, easy to store, driver was easy to install, and works perfectly. my first tablet was an intuos small and ive had it since 2015 and it still works perfectly, they keep their drivers updated and overall id recommend their tablets 100% :D ive only used a non-wacom tablet once and honestly it was horrible, driver wasnt EVER updated by the company, tablet broke constantly, hotkeys didnt work, etc. wacom is the only company i trust with tablets at this point haha
