A long time ago, me and my parents decided we wanted some chickens. So we ordered some online and at the local Brooksher's Feed and Farm Supply. All our chickens died because of a Jack Russel Terror(no I didn't spell that wrong) named Daisy before the chicks started to lay eggs or crow. Time after time we recieved new chicks, but they all died or just left one or two chickens extremely wounded and the rest eaten. One day, my dad decided to bring home some baby chicks from a school that was going to give them away to a meat packaging place. But my father rescued them and brought them home. It was a hot summer day, and they all had their feathers fluffed out and were resting their heads on each other's backs. They were all white except for one black and white one that I named Pepsi. A certain white one with a black spot on his back I named Fleck, and a pure white one I named Dove. There were others, too, but, like I said, chickens just seem to die with us around! I raised the three up, and I held them in my lap every day and stroked them. They followed me around like three little dalmatian puppies. Then a day came when they were to heavy and big for my lap. They didn't follow me anymore - now they had important stuff to do, like lay eggs, crow, eat, and mate. I was sad. I knew my mom and dad were planning on selling my beloved birds just because they were fatter than the rest. My mom explained to me that they just eat too much corn. I reminded her that even if I was fat, she wouldn't give me away to an orphanage where I would be slaughtered and eaten by cannibals. But my dad found someone at work to take care of them. He is going to take them away tomorrow morning earlier than 5:00 a.m. and I can't say good-bye to them, the birds I raised, and Dove and Pepsi are expecting the chicks of Fleck. Today we are letting them enjoy their last day here by feeding them cracked corn, letting them roam around the yard, and do anything they please. I know that they will be alright in another place, but I'm still very sad. Please help me! Tomorrow's the day.
Some pictures of the flock together -
In this one, the white hen in the corner is Dove.
In this one, the black and white hen is Pepsi.
Lol, yes, they're bad pictures. But they move quickly, and as you can see, Pepsi blinked.
