Alright here is a small tip horse riders might know, or might not.

You Stirrups (The bit of metal on the leather strap where you put your boot into and mount.) are better lenghted if you pull it to your are lenght. Usaully put your arm out straight to where the stirrup leather starts and hold the metal bit under your arm. If it is too short, make it longer, to long make it shorter. And do this until it is perfect. You MUST do both sides of the Saddle. Otherwise it will be harder to stay in your seat. There for harder to control your horse/pony.

Horse(s) Name(s): Snapper and Little Man
Problem/Question: OK.....So i have 2 questions but i will tell you what the story is behind it first. 1.) Little Man is a very curious horse. He likes to get into trouble at al times possible. (i.e: breaking through the fence at 1 in the mornin and havin the cops called out to the house cause both horses were in the middle of the road. :? ) He also tends to break things constantly. He tears up the stalls that we have and is constantly kicking/bumping into/pulling down boards. Our stalls arent the greatest in the world, but they work just fine. (My dad made them by hand.....our horses stay at our house and not a stable) So heres my question, How can i get Little Man to stop getting into so much trouble?

2.) Little Man is also aggresive towords men (except my dad) and is sometimes aggresive towords my other horse, Snapper. I constantly find scars on Snapper when I'm grooming him where Little Man has bit him or something. So heres my next question, How can i get Little Man to stop being so aggresive? Granted he is a very sweet horse, but he has issues with men. And yes i know that there is a hierachy in groups of horses, but ive never noticed other horses having scars on them constantly from other horses. (Its not majorly horrible, but its the occasional one here or there that worries me. )

Can you please help?

Alright, so first question. How can i get Little Man to stop getting into so much trouble?

Well, if he is breaking down your fences, he is too smart for his own good. Which mean, he probably needs to learn that it is naughty, Not by abused but by leaving him in his Stall a little longer than Snapper. But your could also try the Affectionate way. Making him WANT to stay. Feed him carrots or apples. But maybe is he is pushing your fences down, you should put eletric wire up just a band around where he is getting out. My horses wouldn't get out is there was 2 stings of wire. But we had a BIG problem with our cows and calves. They got out consitantly, so we checked to fences every day, to make sure that there was no gaps big enough or so on. But the fence had actually broken itself. So maybe is you check your fences after you lock them up, just to make sure that they are looking like they are supposed to.

Alright hope that helps. Second Question. How can i get Little Man to stop being so aggresive?

Well he sounds like a little colt to me. If he is miss behaving. But if you got men other than your dad to get near him alot more, he will ajust. But if he ajusts to only that guy, then he will still be agressive towards others. So let other guys groom him while you hold him and so forth. But him biting Snapper is nothing to worry about. It is just showing whos boss. My horse Clancey was in a paddock at his old home with a horse called buster. And well yer Buster Busted up clancey. Every training ride we went on, i had to groom him big time! Buster always went for Clanceys throat. But when clancey came out to my property he was with 2 ponies. so he wanted to be the big bad boss. But he knew what it felt like, to be bitten and he doesn't bite our horses. But if you have a real heart to stop him, put chilli pepper, just a dap, on where ever he is bitting Snapper. And no it won't hurt either of them.

If your having any other problems, just post another question. Or PM me. Hope that helped you Soccerchick96.

Yea it helped. Idk why he acts like he does but he has bitten my uncle for no reason before, but weve had several men come around and he starts actin all high and mighty. We're tryin to break him of it. And the thing about our fence is....it is electric. haha but weve amped up the enegy and he hasnt been messing with it as much.
But Little Man will always be Little Man. haha

Thanks again!

Lol, all mighty Little Man! yer, but still try the treating him well thing. It will show him you love him and care for him. But if he bites. don't hit him, put him in his stall for a little while, then come back, and try again. Well good luck!
