Anyone else have an intrest in Entomology and all things bug related?
I teach toddlers and we have 4 bug cages currently set up with 3 more that can be set up. Im so lucky to have a job that allows me to include my hobbies. our current cages include a giant shield mantis named Princess Green Bean, a budwing mantis named Little Bit, a dubia colony thats just called the Dubias, and a centipede named Cirlce that we found in our classroom. the other 3 cages are nonnative ones ive purchased. the kids absolutley love handling and caring for our pets. Does anyone else keep bugs?

I am obsessed with bugs! especially non-bug bugs like scorpions. I am pretty good and bug ID and REALLY good at bug taxonomy! i have a scorpion, two tarantulas, a crayfish, and an unimaginable amount of isopods. my job involves bugs, so i am always surrounded by them!! (if anyone needs bug ID, you can count on me to identify at least to superfamily or suborder)

Hi everyone! Apologies if it's not ok to resurrect a thread that hasn't had a post for nearly a year! As a fellow bug enthusiast, I was really happy to see a thread about them, since I feel they're often under appreciated.
Currently the only insects I have are a pretty large darkling beetle colony that I've had for 5ish years. It all started with my turtles trying mealworms for the first time and not enjoying them. The larvae that they didn't eat pupated, and the beetles procreated, and it went from there. They're awesome little guys! Very easy to care for, definitely a species I'd recommend to someone interested in getting into the insect keeping hobby. I also keep black soldier flies outdoors in the summer since they're native here, but it's not quite time for them yet. I'm currently observing a nest of eastern tent caterpillars that has taken up residence on my property. They're only about 1/2 inch right now, and I have yet to actually witness them outside of the nest, but I'm exited to watch them grow!
I'm particularly interested in myriapods, especially millipedes! They're just so cute, and their locomotion brings me joy. I would love to keep them someday.
I could go on, but I'll leave it here for now. If anyone wants to chat, please do reply! I'm definitely up for some bug chat!

I love bugs but it's more that I like.. looking.. at them. I don't know a whole lot like you guys do, but I love learning and would really enjoy becoming more well-versed in all things bugs.
I applied for an internship keeping bees this summer, I dunno if I got in yet, but fingers crossed! Should be finding out by the end of next month.

I LOVE BUGS SOOO MUCH!!!! My favorite bugs are moths (specifically hawk moths because they are unusually non nocturnal despite being moths, they can still eat in their adult stages and have longer lifespans, they are very large and pretty, and they can fly incredibly fast!) ants, and jumping spiders.
If you're scared of spiders, fear not! Jumping spiders are SO cute and very interesting.
They have the IQ of a 1 year old human baby which is very good for a spider. They have eyesight as good as ours and can see the moon 3d shapes and full color. They are very inquisitive and curious and will often observe and follow humans around. They have a primitive idea of what is going on at all times, and instead of setting up a web like normal spiders they pounce on their prey like cats! They also act a lot like cats, some people call them 8 legged cats.
