I have no clue if this is the correct forum but it does have to do with pets.
When I was a child we got a puppy in place of my mother having a fourth child. Soon we got given another dog who was much older.

Fast forward 13 years to now and our oldest one (22) who was deaf and blind passed away. 5 days later the one who was like my mothers child passed too, the day before her birthday. I had no chance to grieve as my mother was so distraught. She is disabled with brain damage so she is largely in bed and the dogs became everything to her. I understand why she was upset and I want her to feel happier again. So, any ideas on how to make her feel better?

Yeah, maybe get her another puppy? But maybe make it a surprise.

Buy her maybe dog plushies!! So she can hold it when she's feeling down! Or maybe dog theme coloring book! Coloring books are used often to calm people down and it's a lot of fun, maybe something like that will help her <3

Get another puppy - maybe not at this present moment - but soon.
They also make these things called cuddle clones! Send them a picture of the dogs and they will make them into stuffed animals, and they look almost identical! <3
