I will start, the binturong They can hang upside down with their tails and look like cats crossed with a lemur crossed with a bear They are incredibly cute, search them up!

And then there's these African Otter Shrews, that aren't shrews, they're tenrecs, and i just like they look like some horror game monster but like cute and I just i don't know, they make my heart swoon they look like a gator rat and i love gators and rats so win win in my book



Really tenrecs in general. They all look strange. I love them all. They look like bootlegs of other animals.

There's a lot of unusual animals I really love, but most of them are non-mammals, oops.

Since I don't wanna flood this thread with a lot of unusual species, here's one I recently found out about, the pea crab:

Look how small and cute! They're a species of small crab that are parasites of oysters.

They're about the size of a dime:


And yes they can even sometimes be found in the oysters you're eating, commonly cooked.

I agree with @BrambleBird, binturongs are one of the most underrated animals. I mean, look how cute they are:

And apparently they smell like popcorn and are the only viverrid with a prehensile tail. I think they're closely related to cats.

I just want to add my favourite animal to this thread: the long-armed squid, also called the big fin squid. They're weird-looking and amazing deep sea cephalopods.

I love coatis! They never get any attention, and are super cute! I actually got to snuggle one at a rescue center near me (she was an abandoned pet) and it was a dream come true ❤️

I like marbled polecats. They look like ferrets in clown costumes. I hope I can photograph some of these creatures live someday, but in the meantime, here's a picture of one I found in Wikipedia:
