Does anyone have any tips on training your chickens to not freak out when they see you? Lol. Right now, we have about 11 chicks that are a month old, and every time I go to feed them they freak out. I’ve been wondering if it’s possible to train them to be less freaked out and to actually enjoy being around people. I have a friend who’s chicks let her pick them up, and she said all she did was pick them up and touch them a lot. Whenever my hands even go near my chicks, though, they immediately started freaking out and running.

My chicks were like that to. What we did was we held them and gave them love and cuddles everyday to the point that they want love, even if they're running try to grab one and when you do just whisper to it and pet it softly till it calms down, then slowly put them back down and repeat with the other chickens.

Thats the best thing to do to get them used to you, it worked with me for my 3 different flocks

I need someone’s help.
I’ve had egg bound chickens before and I’ve always been able to help them no problem, but this morning I found a young silkie hen laying on the side of the road in very VERY bad condition, and I believe she’s egg bound. Is there anything different about getting the egg out of a silkie vs getting it out of a big hen, let’s say a jersey giant? Do I need to be extra careful because she’s so tiny?

Please help ASAP

I sell mine at the end of my driveway in a little cooler, self serve. I also give mine away at work when I get overrun with eggs.

used to walk my chickens literally all the time when I was younger but they did not enjoy it at all. The other kids on our street did love it, but I mostly just dragged them along until I realized they hated it.

ahhh i thought that i was so weird for doing that, i am glad to see someone else has done it. thinking back on when i did this, i believe my ducks enjoyed it. i definitely did not make them walk and kinda let them lead the way, but maybe they did hate it ): i hope not!

I take my chickens sledding in the winter. My polish hens like it but no one else does.
