10,728 total canine abuses as of july 16, 2012
77.5% were pitbulls getting abused

so it really unfair to hate pitbulls so much when a lot of the time humans are the cause of them attacking.

Where'd you get those stats? You need to source where you get things from. I also don't trust most shelters and ACOs to know the difference between the actually bully breeds and mixes that just happen to look similar to bully breeds. Or to even be able to tell the difference between all the bully breeds.

I got them from here. I dont know how definite they are but yeah..

I love pits. (: My baby girl, Molly, I think is half pit, half husky. She's rough with other dogs(not aggressive, just rough) and *very* protective of her family and her home. But, once you get to know her she is a complete sweetheart. I know plenty of amazing pits, who are just cuddle bugs.

Dont forget that pitbulls also play in the movie Beverly Hills chihuahua they are my favorite dog. Its not like they are really mean they just have the features that make them look that way and the owners make them be. But if i trained my little dachshund to be mean her could be just as mean as the fighting dogs. It how people raise their animals to be nothing is their fault
I used to be a long time player with a lot of good pets, then I quit and gave all my pets away. Now I am back to collect one of every pet. Let the challenge begin

http://mysmelly.com/Archive/DogScissors ... p/post.htm Found this website, I'm pretty sure there is a thing called scissor bite :) Lock jaw is tetanus but scissor bite in dogs is where their teeth or bite work like a scissor :)

Jazi and I both said scissor bite is how their jaw/teeth are structured. Which is the same thing what you linked to is saying. People who say "pit bulls can lock their jaws" think pit bulls have this mechanism in their skull structure that allows them to actually lock their jaws into place. That's a myth. Pit bulls simply hold on.

And yes, lockjaw is a symptom of tetanus but is DIFFERENT then what the myth says.

Pitbulls are the sweetest animals on earth.

The average of people killed by:
Smoking: about 440,000
Automobiles: about 42,000
2nd hand smoke: about 35,000
Guns: about 29,000
Pitbulls? About 3
Which one should we ban?

It's terrible what people do to these poor dogs. Luckily, they have few of us who actually care about the breed. Stop BSL!

Why are fighting dogs always thought of as mean? The vast majority are very people friendly, heck some are even good around dogs outside of the pit. (and no, I'm not assuming that.). If you watch the big time dog fighting busts, all the dogs chained up in the yard are friendly and greet the officers.

This is a scissor bite. It has nothing to do with bite style. It's about jaw structure.
