Well, I got feeder fish...just none for my bichir. pet store lacked small enough feeder fish for my little(6 inch) bichir to be able to hunt. instead my parents came home with a bag of 24 smaller goldfish (between 3-6 inches each) for our Oscar.

the Oscar is now happily schooling with his new school of goldfish, who seem to find protection with the big guy.

@charchar2 Re: cycling
If you remove the sponge from the stablished filter and squish it out into the new tank or better yet if the fitters use the same media switch some out (not too much or you may encounter a cycle bump with your established tank)

Sorry if I missed it but what are you planing on putting in the 30g?

Thank you :)
I can't wait to see how Matilda looks when she's bigger
I have always wanted a big fat butterfly lol
She's the smallest so I have been teaching her to hand feed so I can control the amount of food she gets better... she is a slower eater then the other two lol

Sorry for asking again, but I don't think I got an answer the first time, unless I missed it somehow.

Would a black moor goldfish be alright on its own in a 12 gallon tank for a year or so, if I moved out the comet it's currently with? I can't afford a bigger tank until next summer, but he's really small, smaller than my thumb.
Also, I was thinking I could move the comet to a water garden (about 50-80 gallons, not sure), would it be able to survive winter if I left it outside like that?
