c: Awesome, what kind? We'd love a saltwater tank. Maybe some time in the distant future we'll be able to get one

just give me like names of plants that would do well and not mysteriously die on me.
Java fern, java moss, anubias, thin val, crypts (best putting crypts in once the tank has been setup for a couple of months as they 'melt' in a new aquarium) amazon sword, moss balls, anacharis
These are all hardy plants that don't need high amounts of lighting or much maintenance

Alright...the only thing i'm worried about it cleaning the gravel with loads of plants, and also the price is a good factor. know of any good places that sell them cheap and healthy? or any grow-your-own kits? i'm not too bad with them.
Will a pond lily be okay with these plants or are they super competitive? i can always move it to my other tank, but i;m sure my angel will tear it apart.
Oh and what's good at curing finrot? i think my angel might have it but the spanner barb and paradise fish din't have it, so i'm confused.

Wild.One wrote:How many gallons is your tank? : 10
How many fish and what types are they? : 2 guppies, 1 livebearer, 5 neon tetras, 1 bristlenose pleco
How long has it been running? : about half a year
Did you cycle it? : yes
If possible what are the ammonia nitrite and nitrate levels? : I'm not sure
What is the issue or question? :
1 of my guppies and 1 neon tetra have gone missing. The tank has a hood and there's no way they could escape the tank. They both had been looking sickly. The guppy wouldn't really eat an the tetra was quite pale. I have been looking for them but now I'm just not sure what to do.

What sort of plants did you try? What was the substrate/pH/lighting? What about temperature?
Additives, if any [beside water conditioner]?

I can't remember the exact names of all the plants. Smaller, shrublike plants. Just had one that was red and melted in the tank. Cyprus helferi I can't get to take for the life of me. Does great for about 3 weeks, then turns brown almost overnight. I think the lighting isn't strong enough.
Small gravel, smooth. That's it as substrate. Ph is 7ish. Lighting is a daylight fluorescent bulb. Temp is 78, 80 if it gets hot outside. Additives are api liquid carbon, aqueon plant fertilizer, Api leaf zone and seachem root tabs for the heavy root feeders like my giant amazon sword and its cousin.
Honestly I think half the problem is when I get them, they look great, but I unwrap or unpot them when I get home and roots are black, stems are rotted, etc. The other half is they don't like my tank.
Eta: dwarf hairgrass is doing fantastic in the other tank though. The only thing that differs in that tank from the specs I gave is the bulb- it's a specific fluorescent bulb for planted aquariums.
