@TerrificTeddyGuineas: Though I don't know about the other fish, I wouldn't breed bettas unless you're absolutely, positively sure you have the time, money, and resources lined up for them. You may also want to find tentative homes for them ahead of time.
Betta breeding, firstly, can be dangerous for both males and females. If not watched properly, they could easily injure or kill each other. Besides that, they can easily have anywhere from 25 to 400 babies, all of which will need to be separated and cared for individually when they get big enough.
In order to make sure you're ready for the responsibility, I suggest you check out the breeding sections on bettafish.com. It's definitely not a casual hobby. c:

@Mnemosyne
Thanks or checking with me to see if I have the resources. I have several homes lined up already and I know that it can be dangerous for the breeding pair. I was actually checking out bettafish.com a lot lately so I'll continue looking at it! Thanks!

Oh, I've had my fair share of bettas. I've had some with red eyes and such (but he was red so it made sense), it probably just shocked me cause his eyes don't match his coat (it's like that coppery brown but against black!)
Thanks for the replies

My blue and white betta used to have orange eyes o3o But he's lost a lot of his white, and his eyes are brownish blue now.

Hey, I have another question about corries.
I have a ten gallon tank with four zebra danios in it. I'm planning on heavily planting it with live plants and getting some ottos so they can enjoy my green algae. If it's there, they might as well take advantage of it.

But, I really love corries as well, and I was wondering if this tank setup would be okay for them. When I looked up about the pygmy corries, it said to be careful with rocks so they can't accidentally squeeze under them and that they should be on sand. I have a large waterfall feature that I'm worried about crushing them. There's also some small river rocks scattered through. Plus, I know they're bottom dwellers, and I'm worried that with the plants I'm planning on adding, they might not have enough open space to swim and then will be unhappy.
Here are the pictures of the tank setups. If anyone could advise me about what would be okay, I'd be very thankful. Also, would the danios and two ottos take up enough room in the tank that I couldn't get a sufficient amount of corries? I know they're a schooling fish.

I'd like to start breeding the snails, but while I'm cycling my tank I need
a fish or something (and odds are I'll not get rid of it after cycling). So,
I'm wondering what to get. Would Cories bother the snails? Guppies?
Tetras? I could take this opportunity to get an African Dwarf Frog...

What size is the tank? c:
You could always do a fishless cycle which is much kinder for the fish c:
But generally any peaceful community fish should be fine with snails. So cories, guppies or tetras should be fine.
You cannot eat love, nor buy a horse with it, nor warm your halls on a cold night

With the ottos, I want to make sure you know that they will clean up your tank within a week (Remember that they should be kept in groups). I had a tank covered in algae(10 gallon) and the 3 I got cleaned it in 3-4 days. After that, you will have to feed them on your own or they will eat your aquarium plants. (They say that is rare but I've had it happen on several occasions). I reccommened kale or spinach that was microwaved in a little but of water for about 30 seconds. They will eat dead or dying leaves off your plants though so that is nice.
I'm not too sure abut the Pygmy cories. I know that regular ones would be fine in that and be very happy because of all the cover. I just am not sure about the rocks squashing them. I've never heard that before.
Hope this helps!
