I kept a male betta in a 30 gallon hexagon tank with 6 females with no issues.

The key is plants, get a bunch of plants so they can get away from each other.

oddly enough, if the females chase each other and nip, LET THEM, this is how they form a pecking order in the tank.

If you do a male with a bunch of females, do as said above, but also put some water flow at the surface, this keeps the male from making a bubble nest easily which means no babies, and make sure that he is a docile male(put him next to other males and see if he flares up and paces, or simply flares enough to show he could care less).

do this and make sure that EVERYONE gets enough food and the fish will do great, just don't put any other fish in the tank other than bettas(males will protect their harems from other fish).

I totally agree!
I personally love setups with 1 male and 5-7 females, and lots of plants/caves.
i just dont like the idea of 2 males in one tank.

Ahhh, looking through the betta tag on Tumblr is making me really want to set up another tank...or two...or a million. ;n; But I definitely wouldn't be able to; it's already annoying enough to my parents that they're going to have to bring up ONE fish to my college, so any more would be totally out of the question. Ahhh, betta fever...

1.We have raffles for fish
2.we have contest with dressing up fish(the ones by malk such as the 2009 ones)
3.We have riddles like guess that fish
