How many fish and what types are they? : Tetras, a freshwater angel, three cleaner loaches and a small gourami. I know it's overstocked but my mom won't let me buy a bigger tank x.x Please don't bash on me too hard!
How long has it been running? : About seven months
Did you cycle it? : Yes
If possible what are the ammonia nitrite and nitrate levels? : N/A
What is the issue or question? : I did a 80% water change two days ago, and today I just bought a Tetra Medica GeneralTonic from my petstore. I have quite a lot of live plants in the tank, and I know some medications kill them. I want to treat the entire tank with the tonic as some of the fish have minor fin rot. Can anybody tell me how to use it? It says on the bottle that 5ml for 20litres of tank water. Will it kill my plants? Do I have to take out my bio filter (I use a sponge btw)? Do I have to add more after a few days after adding the first medication? Tank has an airstone.

As for over stocking, if you can't get bigger tank then why not rehome some of the fish? At least the angelfish would really really need much more space...

Which medicine brand(like Sera, Tetra, JBL etc.) is actually effective? I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with one of my corry and then which medication to get for him on Monday(though I have no clue what sort of meds our local stores even have, if they have any)... But there's so many products around that I'm not sure which are actually good as I have heard that not all are effective, especially the broad range stuffs. So I'm little iffy about buying one of those, even though I think it's kinda what I need...

See I lost one tetra some weeks back, that some guessed might have had dropsy(though it didn't have puffed out scales or pop out eyes) or other bacterial infection causing swimming blader issues and quick death, and now one of my corries has lighter spot on his neck(which doesn't really look like white spot disease to me) and total 3 have lost some of their whiskers.
