That's a shame, Lonin. :c My danios sometimes peck at the shrimplets, but none have
been eaten as far as I know. This is my tank setup in case anybody's curious! o3o

There used to be loads of plants in there but my army of snails somehow managed to destroy
them and made them all float around after a couple of weeks. The bogwood in the middle is
for my bamboo shrimp so that he can sit in the current of the filter to get food. ^-^

Ahhh another Maidenhead fan!
I love Maidenhead, the one nearest to me is seriously the best aquatics shop round here.
Even better than the one thats supposed to be one of the best in the country, but I've honestly had nothing but trouble with them, and have heard bad things from other too.My nearest has got an indoor koi pond, you can even buy food to feed them

I'll have to see if they don't mind me taking pictures next time we go.
I love P@H too, but I don't use them for fish stuff much.
---------------------------------------------------------
Quick question, I've got a couple of empty tanks that I need to pack up & get out of the way untill the animal room in finished & I can set them up again.
How would be best to pack them?
We've got crap-tons of bubblewrap, the kind with the big bubbles, not sure if we've got any cardboard boxes, but if not we can get some if nessecary.
One is a 17ltr cube tank, the other is a 28ltr rectangular.

Agreed, Maidenhead is the best aquatics place i've been to. c:
The one nearest to me is short on staff on the weekends, which are their busiest days.
I might be able to snap up a part time job there at some point. =D
I bought my 45l tank from there, along with any treatments i've needed.
I like Pets At Home, but the majority of staff there ( of which i've met ) know next to
nothing about the fish they're stocking. One of them said it was fine to have a loach
with a snail, and i've seen clown loaches housed with 'nano' shrimp too. Some of them are
very good with fish though, of course! c:

I need a bit of help guys. My dad thinks he knows everything about fish and thinks that I know nothing about fish. Anyways, I have had this betta for over a year and he has recently became very ill. He has been this way for about a few weeks, close to a month. He doesn't swim around, he just lays on the gravel and barely ever eats. When he does eat, you can see him get very stressed and get those stress marks on his body. This tank has been battling with algae for a long time now. I have seen it referred to as green hair algae. It hasn't been pleasant. The tank is only 3 gallons so its not like I can buy a bristlenose pleco or some other type of algae eater for the tank to help it. And snails aren't an option either because freshwater snails are illegal to be sold in pet stores like petco or petsmart in my state. So anyway, my dad think I'm all un-responsible because one tank of mine has algae. (I have a 10 & 20 tank that doesn't have an algae problem) And this tank is small because my parents wouldn't allow me a bigger one at the time as it was my first tank and my mom just didn't want a big tank. (All I wanted was a 5 gallon but it was "too big." ) So now, this morning my dad is telling me how I should put m betta in my
full stocked 10 gallon. When I told him there was no way I was doing that he told me to put the betta in my 20 gallon tank that has a goldfish in it. I told him I definitely can't do that because its a cold water tank and bettas are tropical fish. He still is saying I need to put him in with the goldfish (currently only about 3 in but will grow much larger in a few months) So now I'm stressed out trying to figure out what to do with my poor sick betta.
