Your best prey ferrets is whole prey ( day old chicks, rats, rabbit ) or minced meat just make shore to add things such as heart for the taurin which is needed for ferrets the same as with cats. If you can find a breeder who also feeds raw diet as well as biscuit its easier to keep to that diet.

We do feed ours dry Taste of the Wild cat during hotter weather as fresh meat has to be fed before it spoils as botulism is a huge killer in ferrets. Raw food can fed later once the day cools down.

If you cant then you need to start by mixing minced chicken or chicken broth with the biscuit gradually thickening the consistency till its mince. Though we havnt had any problems with starting with chopped up chicks.

Terrier ferrets got love them all my adults do that.
I keep trying to snap pictures of the brats but its so hard trying to pin down a couple of over zeles kits who keep trying to eat the camera and any object in there path.

Also found out they like the unscented toilet paper to rip up and scatter around, my living room looks like a war zone or early Christmas scene. Wonderweiss had enough and took himself to bed poor baby is shattered.

Oh my goodness, they're so cute!

I'm glad to see you're online, I was actually getting ready to pm you. I'm going to be moving soon, and once we're settled I'll be able to raw feed my ferrets! Do you have any links or book recommendations for me to do a little more research on what exactly they need and what kind of ratios would work best? I know in the past, you've mentioned that yours are fed raw and you seem fairly knowledgeable, so I hope you don't mind my asking questions every once in a while!

Cute and pain's in the butts Suigetsu keep's trying to bury himself in my hair even when up.

I will try and find some link's for you as lot of mine is whole prey such as Day old chick's which are just thrown down whole minus the head's. Rabbit's which the Lurcher's catch are halfed and fed between two, rats are brought in bulk just given whole and even mice go down well ( two or three depending on size ).

Most of it is the same as if you were feeding a cat or Dog if your going by parts and percentage this is the best that found which brake's it down and is pretty easy to understand ( especially for my brain ).

We've started letting the ferrets out for some heavily supervised playtime in my living room, and they're loving the bigger space! Out here, they have the space to play with the cats and actually run around. Saracirce today decided to take one of the cage ramps and make a ladder into the cage so the ferrets could put themselves away when they get tired.

Well Sega climbed in the cage to go potty and came back out to play! This is not a behavior we've been training for, so he got lots of praise. Sometimes I forget how smart these guys are.
