Any suggestions as to how to stop this is appreciated. We're going to take her to the vet soon as well where we'll bring it up. I just want an idea of what may be causing this behavior, especially considering her breed.

It could be, and probably is, bites of affection, asking you to pet her more, or you could be petting her for too long. If a cat doesn't like how it's being petted anymore it'll let you know; nothing to worry about!

She's really cute c:
Could be that there isn't anything wrong with her. Sometimes cats get overstimulated when being stroked for too long and bite to tell you to stop. Ours does the same, you've got to watch out for the little hints that they've had enough before they start biting. Stuff like the tail twitching, eyes dilating, ears pointing back and skin twitching.
Mention it to the vet since you're going anyway but try shorter cuddle sessions and see if that helps.

Some cats have several homes where they stay for a while and some just enjoy wandering around and sometimes get lost for a bit, but if you're worried then you should look into local shelters and put up flyers to see if anyone has seen him.

Well, there are certain breeds that act like dogs, but are pretty easy to care for. Ragdolls are one such breed, but they have a long coat that can become matted if it's not cared for properly. Even so, they only need a good brushing once every week or so. Manx cats, the tailless breed, are also fairly dog-like in their personalities. I have a manx cat myself, and she's very loving and will follow me around the house. She's also very smart and can care for herself, so she's pretty low maintenance.

Really though, your best bet is to go and look in some shelters and see if there are any cats that would fit into you and your family's lifestyle. You never know what kind of cats you'll find there. c:

On another note, my kitten is currently in a lot of trouble. She decided it would be a good idea to use my back for climbing practice while I was getting my dinner started. Needless to say, I ended up with a lot of scratches on my back and my hand, and she ended up being put in time out for it. What a brat she is sometimes!

@Desperado!
Luckily, my cat is too big to do that- 3 years old and 10 pounds. I swear, she's a real brat and probably would do that if she could.
@PotatoAnimeGeek
I agree with Desperado!, you should check out your local pound where cats (& dogs, if you decide on one) already have fully fleshed-out personalities, and you can often meet them before you decide to adopt. Adopting is also great because adoption fees are amazing deals that usually include fiv/felV testing, spaying/neutering surgery, and all sorts of addons that would cost 320$ all together at least! For cats 3 years & over, my SPCA charges just thirty dollars when they pay at least 320$ for everything!
adoption sites to find cats, dogs, rodents & others!

Hey, I have a cat issue.
I have two cats, and I just got a new kitten. The two cats don't seem to like the small kitten, and the kitten hisses at them. The two cats are female, and the kitten is male (all are fixed). Will this continue?

Usually, if you introduce a new cat into an already established home with older cats, the older cats will be aggressive for a while, until they get used to the new cat. I would recommend trying to introduce them to each other slowly, and not just plopping this new kitten into the house and leaving it at that. A good way to get them safely introduced is to put the kitten in a bedroom or a bathroom, then close the door and bring the older cats over to the other side of the door. It helps to have a friend sit with the kitten while you sit with the older cats. Then, you can let them stick their paws under the door and sniff each other, give them treats or toys, and this should help them understand each other and be more comfortable. This does take time though, anywhere from a week to three weeks typically, so while you're trying to introduce them, try to keep them separate when you're not working with them.
There will always be a little bit of fighting with cats, that's just kind of how they are. But you can at least help them be more comfortable around each other so the fights don't escalate.
