Crowntails are gorgeous but you'll have to be cautious of the current in your tank. c:
(I'm super partial to Plakats and their short yet colorful fins. <3)
The filters that I have right now, which I would so far recommend, are the Fluval C2 HOB and the Marina S10 HOB filters. Both have adjustable water flow. The Fluval as all kinds of fancy extras and is more expensive and you'll need to buy a sponge filter cover because sometimes long fancy fins get sucked in and that can be stressful.
As for plants I would suggest some easy beginner plants that are also some of my favorites. Cryptocorynes, Java Ferns, Marimo Balls (good for algae control and they're just cute), and you could also try some Anubias species or a species of Crinum which is one of my favorites.
As for plant substrate, the one I like the best is CaribSea Eco-Complete but you'll have to make sure you top it with a different gravel that is safe for your Betta because the plant substrate is course (I bought glofish gravel because of it's size and smoothness). I fertilize with Seachem Flourish Tabs but liquid works well too!

Hey guys, little update on my tanks and the fisheis.
Ten Gallon;
Tundra; Black Mollie; Male
Tundra's a little bit of a grouch so we're keeping him in the ten gallon with maybe three other fish his size.
Nepetra; Dalmatian Mollie; Female
Nepetra is quite calm, she usually follows Tundra around. I'm not sure if shes pregnant or not, but since she hasn't given birth yet I don't think so.
Twenty Gallon;
Hugo;Golden Barb;Female
She's the leader of the three barbs, who is mostly calm and collected. She likes to stay on the outside of the decoration and stays with Sabbath and Sister allot.
Sabbath;Golden Barb;Male
He's my favorite :) This one's the most adventurous of the group.
Sister;Golden Barb;Male {Pretty sure at least XD}
Sister is somewhat shyer, but is still really active.
We'll most likely be getting another barb and a red velvet sword tail for the twenty, maybe a panda platy also. Possibly another mollie or platy for Tundra's tank.
One gallon Betta Tank;
My female Veiltail betta Lucy
We just put her in the tank today and she doesn't even act like a betta; she acts more like our barbs. She's really active and even though she's not full grown and is still younger she is very pretty. Love her <33
Might get another betta for Christmas. This time a older one, maybe one around Lucy's age if I happen to fall in love with one.
I'll try to get pictures soon.
Good Luck BoxedSprout; keep us updated. and are there any fish in the tanks you have except for the two jack Dempsey fish?
Jellybaloo; check out Golden barbs. I have three right now, but you should keep them in at least a school of four or five. They are really active and have great personalitys :)
Dakotak;Right there with you. That's amazing :)
I'm an old player from back in 2010 and really just on here to look for art
If you like any of the pets I have that are only uncommon/common if you send me a pun I'll almost certainly give them to you for free
Hey friends check out my adopts here : )Ps- If i ever had any beef with any of you i am so, so sorry i was an arrogant jerk of a child who threw a fit whenever I didn't get my way

Thanks so much for the help and the links! (: I have one more question for now -- can I cycle a tank with the plants already in it? I was going to ask about Marimo balls, too, but you already answered that! (: They're so cute.
