What's your substrate? cory are recommended to have sand substrate as gravel damages their whiskers
Neons should be fine with the angels since the angels are still young and will grow up with them
It's sand, I yes I know I use to have them

So you don't think it will be over-stocked?
You should be ok, you may have to rehome one of your angels when they get abit bigger though
at one stage I had 3 angels (2 where juveniles) 7 skirt tetra, 10 neon tetra, 10 danio and 2 BN in my 40g
I now have 1 angel, 7 skirts, 10 neons and 1 BN though (my other angels where rehomed and the danios where moved to a different tank) I have a tiny angelfish that will be added to the tank once he is abit bigger

^ Favorite fish is hands down the Betta, they were the first fish I ever had and I will probably have one when I'm old and gray. c:

How many tanks do you have: I have 3 set up, a 5.5 gal, a 5 gal and a 46 gal.
Type of fish that you have: Plakats and Fancy Goldfish
Your fish's names: Luna & Artemis are my Goldies
Working on proper names for my Plakats still because I'm trying to find ones that stick~
How long have you had fish: I've owned fish for about 20 years now.
My mother helped me pick out a new dragon boy, who I totally adore, and I finally got his tank cycled.
I decided to revamp an old tank I found in the garage, just got my new power filter in today so it's not installed yet (just using a cheap one atm), but I cut out a space for a HOB filter and removed the built in bio-wheel filter that was broken. I put deep plant substrate in the back half and built a mesh wall to divide it then built up Betta friendly substrate in the front. I pulled one of my Crinum Calimistratum from my 46 gallon that my snail would not stop eating and put it in this tank (because I love my plants just like my fish) and then separated some Cryptocoryne plants I had been growing and planted them in the back. There are also some baby marimo balls in there from my large one. c': I plan to either continue some Java ferns along the divider (I pulled some babies off my large plants in the 46G) and or buy some Christmas moss or something similar to start.

Anyways, my new boy loves his new setup and has turned into a handsome happy active dragon. His fins are pretty neat too. They're very ornate and his caudal fin is actually a flawed half moon that tries to split into a double (naturally, not from injury). I think I'll probably name his Gosick because he reminds me of the frilly clothes the main character wears.

quick snap shots of relaxed and prancing~
Sorry for all the gushing, hopefully fellow fish fanatics will understand. ^^;

Isn't is obvious? Fancy Goldfish!!
Seriously though. Seahorses and Goldfish are my favorites, but Goldfish will always have a special place in my heart. <3

We welcome gushing. We love any and all fish talk. :3
So, one of my friends has a betta in a very small, unfiltered, unheated tank. She had recently cut him while doing a water change and now he is being lethargic. Along with being cold and suffering from waste build up, she feels bad about it. So I may take him, divide my betta's tank with a divider and put him on one side and either find another 5 gal or re home him.

Question. I have been growing plants, and well, my apogenton has this wierd stem-like thing going to the surface, and its getting another. should i cut them? what are they? do the plants need them? it looks like a stigma, but smaller and on the aquarium plants, it grows almost 6 inches a day, and is starting to look wierd growing on the surface of the water, at about 2 feet and the plant itself is about2 inches with the leave all the way up.
Could it be a resault of the plant food i've been putting in there( special for aquarium plants.)

Try googling your plants info. I tried looking it up but a few results came up and I was not sure what plant was yours.
Photo shoot!! I got a new camera for my birthday and its awesome!! It can also go underwater so expect underwater videos and pics. ^^
Also, the floating debris you may see is their food. Its the only way I can get them to stay still. XD

Does anyone here have tips for setting up a planted tank that will eventually house a betta, and perhaps some smaller fish, if there are any compatible with a betta? I've seen some information about putting other fish with bettas, but I'd like to get some advice from those of you who have first-hand experience. (:
