In my opinion, Blue Buffalo is garbage. I tried that, because I thought my dog was getting bored of TOTW(he's been on it since I got him, except for one bag of Blue Buffalo). My dog wanted more than his normal ration, was begging food every chance he got and took to stealing the cat food. The Blue Buffalo would NOT fill him up. It also made his runny eyes much worse, he had issues with vomiting, his coat took on a very odd texture(like he had been rolling in the dirt, but it wouldn't wash out), his poops stunk, he had the smelliest dog farts ever. The food itself smelled awful, and I ended up throwing out a third of a bag because it smelled musty and looked as though it was trying to go moldy. After three days being back on TOTW exclusively(I did a gradual switch onto Blue Buffalo but a cold switch off,) he started to smell better, stopped throwing up, wasn't begging as much and remembered that he was not to eat the kitty food. I also did further research and found that the mold was a common problem, to the point that there was more than a few reports of brand new bags being opened to find the entire contents were one big mass of mold.
So, now he's exclusively on TOTW for kibbles. In the summer, he has a hard time keeping on weight, so he gets a good hearty dinner every night, either something over his kibbles(broth/meat, an egg, tinned tuna, fresh fish) or a couple raw chicken wings. In the winter, that's cut back to a few times a week, because he's not as active. He has raw soup bones as his main chew toy(he likes lamb ribs the best). On special occasions he gets cooked ground beef, rice, and broth. And he's addicted to cantaloupe, and shamelessly begs for iceberg lettuce.
I should probably add that my dog is a 2 year old(well, 2 on the 21st!) shih tzu x chihuahua mix. He has naturally runny eyes, but it is much less of a problem when he's on TOTW. He was cursed with the buggy chihuahua eyes. I also brush his teeth because he has a massive underbite, and several of his front teeth aren't lined up right. I definitely suggest brushing your dog's teeth regardless of their diet or chewing habits. If I neglect to brush Chuckie's teeth for a couple days, I can see a HUGE difference.
Something that a lot of people either don't mention or don't know is that a higher quality food fills your dog with less. It's actually just as cost effective to spend the extra 20$ on a bag of better food as it is to buy the cheap crap, because your dog will eat less and the bag will last longer. I also know when my mum switched our senior dog to a higher quality food, a lot of her old dog ailments lessened - she could get up and down easier, had more energy and didn't seem as overall sore.
I am an advocate for feeding higher quality foods, and I preach to all those I know. I've convinced more than a few people to "give one bag a try" and that's all it takes to change their minds. I like to compare Kibbles n Bits to McDonalds... sure it's a nice treat now and then, but you wouldn't be very healthy if you ate it all the time!

(he looks healthy, right?)
