Yeah rats aren't like dog's grapes are fine as a treat along with chocolate, which in large amours can be fatal to dogs is actually good for rats upper respitory system and will help if your rat has breathing problems. Other good snacks you can give your ratties is grape tomatoes, baby carrots, hard boiled eggs (shell off), cooked noodles, cooked chicken, cucumber, black olives, mushrooms, there's lots of others some food to avoid are oranges, strawberries . You can look it up online for others hope this helps a little bit.

How often are you trying to feed your snake, herpluvin? Chances are if the snake won't eat one day, he won't eat the next, and it's best to wait a week or two! You might end up with more rats than you desire if you don't...^^; But it's good he has a playmate now, anyway. They usually will get along if there's a good age difference!

my python has not eaten in two weeks...he has begun to fast. ball pythons can fast for several months. the rats are sleeping in a pile on each other and are very happy. bear(the first one we got) is very mellow and friendly...the new rat(lets call him blu since he is a blue hooded rat) is young and has a.d.d. lol.

I know--my ball python hasn't eaten since December! But you should definitely post pictures of Blu and Bear sometime, they sound adorable. :)

You can tell when ball pythons are ready to eat if they like wait patiently on the glass, sort of like begging. That's how you can tell if snakes are hungry they like stand up on the glass. I used to work at our local pet store.

Bump for the ratties (:

The upstanding church-going law-abiding tax-paying citizen who votes democrat or republican is far more despicable and a bigger threat to humanity than the most
promiscuous lazy drug-snorting hippie. Why? Because the hippie is willing to let others be free and the voter is not. The damage done to society by bad habits and loose morality is nothing compared to the damage done to society by the self-righteous violence committed in the name of the State.

Hey everyone! I've been stalking this thread for a while but I now how two ratites of my own! :3
I got them from a lady on Kijiji. They came with a few accessories and a MASSIVE double Ferret Nation cage! And it was only $90 for all!
Ok, so, the first one is a beige self, I believe, with dark eyes. Her name is Ellie and she's slightly bigger than Tilly, who is a black berkshire female with a white blaze. Tilly (short for Matilda) is more shy and skittish than Ellie.

I've been using fleece in my cage for the time that I've had them (since April 7th), as it's attractive and I though it would save money in the long run. Turns out that I was wrong. They tore unfixable holes and shredded it all up! So I was wondering what kind of bedding to use now. Also, since FN cage pans are so shallow, how would I keep bedding in?

P.S. They are pretty much litter trained but if I used a different brand of paper based litter, could I use that?
previously luminescent., just decided to change it up a bit! ^.^if you get the reference, you're a fantastic human c:
