so now they both in lil bowls of salty water and i'm keepin them in kinda darkness until it goes away 'cause they need to get rid of that junk I don't need my tiger barbs to all die again like last time..... ugh

Neon Tetras
The neon tetras I bought have passed. Sadly, Wynken, Blynken, and Nod contracted ich at the pet store and passed in a matter of two days. I've been doing my best to rid the tank of any traces of ich.
African Dwarf Frog
I love the frog! She happens to be a girl and is quite the little recluse. She's just adjusting to the new environment and I've decided not to name her yet. Any name suggestions? (Right now I'm calling her a little froglodyte because she's such a troglodyte)
Ghost Shrimp
Bubba Gump the ghost shrimp is happy in the new, larger ten gallon that he doesn't have to share with his agressive brethren. My betta, which was in the tank previously and isn't aggresive, has shown no signs of a desire to eat him. So far so good!
Hi c: I'm sorry to hear about your neons. If you plan on getting anymore, please get 5-7+ as they are schooling fish and do best in larger groups.
I was just getting these three to see how my betta would react to them, as they were expensive.

Nerdy Owl wrote:Does anyone know the best thing to disinfect a fish tank with?
I lost my betta, Phoenix, to fin rot a couple days ago. qnq I'm going to be moving my current betta, Fiora, into his tank so she has more room. But I want to clean his tank /really/ well so she, or any other fish I may have in the future, doesn't contract it. I was wondering what would be the best {safe} thing to use to clean it as I don't want to use anything harmful.
Thank you in advance to anyone who has any suggestions. ^^
Could still use some help with this if anybody has any suggestions. ^-^
Also, quick question just because I've been curious about it for a long time.
My two mystery snails will like, 'stick' to each other a lot. Are they mating or are they fighting? Or are they just like, inspecting each other or something? x3 /feels clueless
Also, when I put my new mystery snail into the tank yesterday, the bigger of my other two snails went and 'stuck' to it too.
They don't seem like they're hurting each other or anything, I was just wondering because they've done this a lot and I was wanting to know /what/ they are exactly doing. And if they are fighting, I wouldn't want the bigger one to hurt the other two. ouo

If you can, try putting them into a system that you can heat. If the water temperature is raised to about ~30C (86F), the ich should speed up its lifespan, as the salt only kills it during its free swimming larval stage. Higher temperatures will also begin to kill the ich itself. This will make the treatment more efficient. Hope they clear up!

yeah, I raised temps to 82 last time (my black ruby barbs can't tolerate anything higher than that 'cause they jump out of the tank due to the temps too high)
but I don't have anything heated for them to be in unless I keep them in the tank with the others... and I do NOT need the whole tank to break out again. I lost
so many fish.also, REALLY CUTE GOLDFISH OMG I WANT THEM ;-;

I can't believe this ;n; I lost another guppy! Rest in peace, Sundance :c
Chalyeo wrote:PeachFuzz wrote:Chalyeo wrote:Yo, anyone know where to get some TRUE Siamese algae eaters?
Since I feed my barbs extremely well, I need the true Siamese, because I've heard they never stop eating pretty much. Chinese will pretty much only eat algae when there's nothing better. I had to rehome my Chinese a while back because they weren't really doing anything to the algae. But my tank is crazy covered in hair algae right now, so yeah. My mystery snail refuses to touch hair algae.
I don't know about the siamese algae eaters, but maybe try some pond snails? From my experience they'll happily eat any kind of algae. People complain about them overpopulating their tanks, but in my 6.6g that hasn't happened. The fish (betta and guppies) eat up most of the eggs/babies before they can get very big.
can't do those, they'll
demolish my live plants.
Really? My 6.6g is heavily planted and I've never had a problem with the pond snails eating the plants.

I have been doing almost nonstop research on them, and he is still there. I think I will be going ahead and adopting him tomorrow if he is still there. Is there any tips you guys have for me?
It would help if we knew what his special needs are. ^^
I am 99% sure he has chronic swim bladder.
Found this..probably not accurate but it's a start!

Do female bettas flare and are they okay with shrimp? i am thinking one of my girls might be a male because they half-flared at my moss ball. it looks just like the others but the body is slightly bigger but get to scale. Yeah, i started my sorority with a small school of rosy minnows and two penguin tetras. i have no idea why they all like to hang out by the filter other than the little white/greenish one that likes my skull.

Female bettas definitely flare! Mochi can prove that to you lol :p
As for the shrimp, it really depends on the specific betta. I tried putting a ghost shrimp in with Mochi and it was dead within a two weeks. She thought it was quite tasty! cx
