I have tons of grids laying around so I figure it'll be much easier to just make my own than to have her bring their cage. Plus I don't think it would fit on the table I have.

~Serenade~ wrote:Thanks! Right now I'm just trying to figure out where/what to put them in since they're coming tomorrow. The owner has a cage however it's wire bottemed which I'm not too fond of. Especially since the one has very limited movement so he can't get off the wire when he wants. What size cage would two dwarf rabbits need?

They should be fine on the wire cage. Just fold up a blanket or put cardboard or a peace of wood in the cage.
All my rabbits are on wire and have suffered no problems at all.
They should be fine.
(By the way I understand sore hocks can be a issue I'm just saying I've never had any problems does not mean other people have not, there are problems with both soild and wire flooring)

Mine has always been wire bottom high up so my rabbit wont get eaten and he doesn't have any problems(he is really fat though). We also have hay in there so he also has hay to eat/jump pn

Same.
Also, for a disabled rabbit, it will probably help keep the bun cleaner. Rabbits that are on solid surfaces and can't move, will likely develop urine scaled. And if they were doing alright in their owners cage, it should be fine. They would likely be less stressed if they remained in their original cage that they have been used to. Also this is something that you would need to talk to the owner about, just because you are caring for the buns for a bit, does not mean you can change things around without owners permission. It is a courtesy to make sure any changes you would like to make, are fine with the owner.

Of course I'll make sure she is ok with it ahead of time. The rabbit already has urine scald. The wire floor apparently hasn't helped and he seems to have a hard time moving/turning on it. I plan to put him on fleese with puppy pads underneath that I can change often.

That should work. Most likely a build up in the cage bummer. :(

Funny thing is peachfuzz, you want ears to be nice and short on a HL.
So his will shorten overtime. Doesn't mean they can't be so dang cute <3 Oswald is only 7weeks

Yeah.
We're going to work on that.
(I personally think most rabbits are cute :3)
I'm going to post some pics of them next post.
Angie is 7 months.
(Gotta get her bred before she's a year.)
We're going to breed her with a buck named Sir. Sprouts.
He has a blanket pattern and long ears
and Angie has short ears and a charlie pattern so we're hoping they'll breed well.
Who does rabbit 4-H? I'm a junior.

What breed of lop do you have? Yes I am a teen leader for my 4-H rabbit group.
Baby bunnies! Is brilliant with rabbits and with 4-H she can answer a lot of things.

Throw her in today, my does take in the winter. But that's most likely because I'm in a dessert biome XD

I show Poultry in 4-H, I've only showed the rabbits at open shows. The leader and some of the other people in our rabbit club are kind of jerks, and I'm always hearing stories about people dumping soda on rabbits, cutting chunks of fur of rabbits with scissors and putting bucks and does in with each other coming from that barn, I heard once somebody put a little polish doe in with a big Flemish giant doe last year or the year before. So I'm a bit scared to even show my rabbits there. >->

I was looking at Gwen's 1 baby today, it has more body markings then some of our babies have had which I'm real glad about, but it doesn't have good color on the ears. It's ears are both like half white, first time any of my broken kits haven't had nice colored ears.

thats terrible! its the opposite in my county, the chicken groups are snobby weird. You can always show in youth without being in 4-H ive considered it with all competitiveness between groups.
