I'm glad she's doing better <3 get rid of the damn mites!!

Flips head wound is fully healed now, I don't know whether I mentioned it here.
I only got an ointment for the wound itself since it could've just been that he hurt himself on one of the wood houses and then scratched it open. There was no bite wound or anything else to see and I should visit the vet again if it didn't get better.
But it did! And I'm so glad! <3

I've had rabbits for most of my life but only ever had two that were solely my responsibility. I have a Netherland dwarf who's about seven? And I just brought home a new bunny around Easter who's between a year and two years. No idea what kind she is; I'm not good at bunny breeds, she just looks like a rabbit to me. Her name is Pumpkin and she was "rescued" from a meat auction lol. I work in a pet store and one of our rescues brought her in for adoption. I took her out of her carrier and held her for a little with the intention of putting her in her cage but she never made it. I decided pretty quick I was taking her home.



She just got spayed yesterday (expensive!) and I feel so bad for her,, she's eating and moving around a little and stuff but she looks like she's uncomfortable. I'm used to her being bright-eyed and hopping around investigating and chinning everything so it's hard to watch her just lay around and look miserable. :( I know she'll be fine tho. I'm just sad.

Pumpkin is so lovely ! I hope she feels better soon : ) My Volkswagen did pretty well after his neuter, and was an addict for his pain meds . I still have the left over from what he didn't need just in case too ! If something ever happens and I cant get him into a vet right away, I'd be able to give him a quick dose a pain medication !

His name is Volkswagen.....omg. Look at his little feet.

Pumpkin doesn't seem to mind her pain medicine but she doesn't know what to do with the syringe so it's kinda hard to get it into her mouth lol. I feel doubly bad having to wrangle her and force medicine into her when she's already uncomfortable!! But it's for her own good! I hope I haven't totally betrayed her trust in me.

Thank you for the well-wishes. :'D She ate some collard greens and is spending more time out of her hidey so I'm taking that as a good sign!

Pumpkin and Volkswagen are so cute!!

So recently, I had to emergency move out of my mom's house and in with my boyfriend and poor little volkswagen was left with nothing but his travel cage to sleep it ( he free roams during the day ) .
But a couple days ago he got a new cage that is much bigger than the one he used to have !! It's a two story hutch ( meant for outside but whatever, we put it inside ) that's about 4ft long and 19in deep !!
He get super antisocial when he has to sleep or be confined in small spaces a lot so it's so nice to have a nice big hutch for him to sleep in . He is so much more friendly again <3

Also, my boyfriend absolutely SPOILS Volkswagen and it's the sweetest thing . Whenever we run out of bananas ( VW's favorite food ) he instantly restocks them and sometimes he will just sit by the rabbit's cage and wait for Volkswagen to come over just to be near him .

Poor Volkswagen. :( I'm glad you got him more space! My dwarf was the same way. I got her when I was just a wee teenager and didn't know any better so she spent a long time in one of those pet store cages. I did eventually upgrade her to a 30"x60" cage tho and while she's still an absolute brat (which is just how Netherland dwarves are sometimes) I can tell she's way happier!

It's good he has a second story too! The only thing I miss about my old cage is the shelf Ammy used to like to jump on. The trade-off was worth it tho.

My girlfriend does the same thing w/ my bunnies!!! She loves feeding them treats. When I know she's coming over I'll withhold treats for a couple days just to keep them from getting too fat lol.

She's conditioning them too. Sometimes all it takes is for me to get up and start walking around and the buns will be up expecting me to give them their papaya bits.
