Ugh, why must Petsmart have so many pretty Betta babies? I want so many of em x-x
I think what they do is a quick cycle. Where they take already established media and add it to a filter. I have no proof of this though and yes they do over stock.

Their tanks are amazing but other than that they do suck.
I went to my LFS a while ago and the woman that owns it was telling my dad and I how she went to one of the businesses that bought a tank off them (the resurant that bought the jukebox tank) and the owner said that after two months, all the fish had died so they sold the tank. The fish died because they put too many fish in all at once and the bio load can handle it.

I am so happy right now ;u; A new aquarium store just opened up at the local mall! I just got back a few minutes ago and it is awesome!! The coral reef saltwater set ups they have are gorgeous. <3 Loads of fish for sale and some decor and tanks too. But the best part? The owner is knowledgeable and really loves fish! I asked him about treatment for one of my bettas who I just diagnosed the other day with velvet, and instead of pointing me to the most expensive medicine in the store (as Petco employees always do in their attempt to make a profit) he told me all about the possible causes of velvet and told me to do water changes more often and if it still doesn't fix the problem I can go back to the store and he can give me some AQ salt. He obviously cares about fish more than money and it's awesome c:
