I have had my dog since For 7 years. I’m almost a teenager and I’m trying to study dog stuf. But I have a question. My old little lady chihuahua has these weird black skin patches on her back. Any ideas how to fix em? We’ve brought her to the vet but nothing worked

What did the vet say they were? I'd recommend a second opinion, better yet a dermatologist. https://www.acvd.org/tools/locator/locator.asp?ids=16_Find_Dermatologist

retro wrote:my lab pup thinks "fetch" means run over to the toy and immediately run back to me for the treat. sometimes she runs over to the toy and picks it up for a split second before dropping it and coming back to me. i dont reward her when she does either of these, but im not sure how to teach her to leave the toy in her mouth. if i cant get her to learn fetch i wont be able to teach her retrieve. any tips/video suggestions?

I cut a slit in my tennis ball to put treats inside, then when your pup picks it up call her and use the leash to tug her gently in your direction, when she gets to you, give her the drop it command and open the ball for a treat instead of keeping the treats in your hand. This will teach her that she has to bring you the ball.

it was rainy today and i took some pretty pics of Lucky and i just wanted to share them with you guys. still cant believe he was considered unadoptable for being "too ugly".

we are making training progress. he is not as terrified of humans anymore, we manage to walk past all sorts of people successfully, as long as they dont head towards him he is an angel. his recall is only getting better, to the point where i am confident enough to let him off leash in the park. i love him!

We got more fosters! The haulers were FOUR HOURS late so these guys came to us at 1 A.M. We had to take two home because a lot of the adopters were coming from different states or had to work in the morning so couldn't make it. So meet Rose of Sharon (and my dad lmao), who was adopted a couple days ago, and Fly Grade School, who will be with us for a couple more days!
Ahh sorry the pictures aren't working! Grade School is the black one and Rose of Sharon is the white and brindle <3

My favorite thing is that Grade School has three brothers, Fly High School, Fly University, and Fly College. He ran 30 races, won 3, and came in second twice. Rose of Sharon (who was instantly renamed Rose) ran 120 races, winning 21 and coming in second 13 times before becoming a mom. The adopter currently looking at Grade School is a vet tech, so he will become an office dog! Which is perfect, he hates being away from people. If he can't come in a room with you, he'll lay down outside the door and cry. Every morning when my mom leaves for work he starts rooing, which in turn sets off our two girls, too. He's super sweet though, and he likes to put his head in-between the two front seats while in the car. I'm gonna miss him a lot, lmao.
