Miniature American shepherd is the 'mini aussie' essentially.

They were technically the Mini Aussie before AS people got upset over the fact that people were trying to make a breed with no set size standard (they don't want quality sacrificed for any set size) 'mini' or smaller.

that's all I had to say I guess, I don't want to get into it because I've had this conversation so many times.
I will say I am mostly against any breeder that labels their dog incorrectly but claims to be reputable (A Miniature American shepherd breeder calling their dogs Mini Aussies). SO I have to agree with liv. I would steer clear.

hello everybody! <3

we have a 3yo amstaff female, and a boxer/american bulldog female turning 11 this year. i had two questions i'd like to ask, and assistance would very much be appreciated.

• first off, our amstaff has an incredible amount of anxiety. everything, and i mean everything, sets her off to whining and barking, and just all these different *annoying* noises. we purchased a BarxBuddy, and it stops her to some extent. we have considered shock collars, but that's something we don't want to do unless we absolutely have to. i'm not sure what other ways to correct this behavior, or what could be done? we had anxiety medication for her, but my father complained against it because of it's 'side-effects' (Hazel, our amstaff, didn't show any, but 🤷).

• second, our american bulldog/boxer is 11 this year! it seems as if her age is catching up to her, and she's recently not been doing great. she's limping on her front right leg. a few days ago, she couldn't get up, and when you touched her stomach, she whined in pain. we took her to the vets, and they did x-rays and blood work, but nothing was actually wrong. her stomach is better now, but either her back, legs, or arthritis she has, is playing her up. she tore her acl in 2018, slipping on ice, and has always had a limp to her rear leg. because of her bulldog elbows, we fear elbow dysplasia, or even worse, something wrong with her back. i'm not sure, but she's definitely better than she was a few days ago. has anybody else experienced this?

thank you!

as someone who has dealt with a severely anxious / anxiety filled dog and is an intern trainer at a behavioral center plus is majoring in animal studies, I think I can help haha!!

So to answer your first question,
    I'd suggest doing confidence-building exercises.
But, before you can do those you will need to figure out what exactly triggers her. What Kinds
of sounds etc. As for the shock collar that is a big NO for fearful and anxious dogs. The shock
can create more fear and lead to fear aggression. I would suggest CBD oil and I wish you would
try the anxiety medication once again. Also, the barxbuddy could lead to fear aggression as well.
But if you can figure out what sounds trigger her and counter them with a sit and treat reward
    that can help!

feel free to pm me if you have further questions

Hey guys! I disappear for a while then pop back in but hello!

I'm getting a puppy this year and I could not be happier. I unfortunately had to give up the dream of getting any uncommon breed or a spoo and instead went for a lab for the highest success rate + lower grooming since that's what I need right now. However I am super happy with the breeder I found. What do I need for puppy? I already have a name picked out, it will be a male. I have a bunch of dog gear already since I'm a gear addict but what do puppies need that an adult dog wouldn't? I want to make sure I have everything prepared before the puppy is ready to come home.

^ a dog first aid kit could come in handy, small training treats, a clicker if you decide to train with one, gentle shampoo, ear cleaning supplies, nail clippers, chew toys and kongs, edible dental chews, blankets and dog-specific towels, plenty of cleaning supplies

that's what i can think of right now!

Do you have brand suggestions for shampoo and dental chews?

I rarely post on here but we've started getting hauls again! This is out first "foster" of the year (5th that we've ever done), but she is actually adopted! She was adopted on the day the haul showed up, but the owner lives about 3 hours away and rather than drive back and fourth had us foster while she got vetted and recovered. Her racing name was SF's Randsome, but they're renaming her Willow. She's going to live on a huge farm on the outskirts of a tiny town, and I can't think of a better place for a greyhound to live. She's 4.5 and very calm, only had two accidents in the house, and is cat friendly. We have her till Thursday <3 (sorry the images are so big)ImageImage

Aw she's adorable. Brindle is my favorite color Greyhound.

Does anyone here use or have tried YuMOVE (joint supplements)?
I knew about it before and the reviews are good, but I was just curious if anyone here has noticed a difference using it?

I got a full size bag of YuMove as a free sample & I noticed SUCH a difference in my dog it was insane. They're worth the money imo!
