Have you done research on them at all? Do you know at all how much they cost, financially and physically? Don't think they aren't dangerous, and do some research before buying one.

Feh. People need to do their homework when they're buying from ANY breeders. I feel sad for the dog, though. Likely, it was from a BYB...
Most fox/dog hybrids are impossible, anyway, aren't they?
There has NEVER been any genetic proof that it is possible. They are from the Canidae family but they are from a different genus. And i have seen this thing and to me it looks like a sheltie mixed with a husky or a shepherd... i don't see fox in it at all. Dogs are from the genus "Canis" and most members of the Canis genus can't breed with other members of the Canidae family (like fox, racoon dogs, and african wild dogs). So most likely some person's dog got pregnant and they were like "awwe they look like little foxes! lets tell people they are half fox and make a fortune!"
^^Hope that made sense^^

Ah. I wasn't sure if any Fox/dog hybrids were possible. I knew that if they existed, they would likely be very rare.
Sharubii Kassua, quit stalking me.

Okay, but why did you tell me to do some research?

Wolf/dog hybrids are cool and all. Is it really considered a hybrid though, since they are the same species? That's besides the point. Yes, so they're cool, but really, they're pointless. Most people can't handle that kind of animal. Heck, most people that I know couldn't handle a primitive dog breed like an Akita. I always joke that my Shiba is like "wolf lite," but that's a pretty accurate description of a primitive breed. If you can't handle one of those, you definitely can't handle a hybrid. And I'd guess that most people that are fine with primitive breeds couldn't handle a hybrid either. I know I wouldn't want to have a hybrid. Not unless I had acres and acres of property that it could run on. Even then... probably not.
I love the wolf look, but if I decide I want a dog with that look, I'll get a Tamaskan or Utonagan. They have the look with none of the behavior issues. They're not widely available yet, but hopefully, they will be someday and people won't want hybrids.
As for fox/dog hybrids, yeah, doesn't happen. But I have a red Shiba Inu and I can convince people that she's part fox. Actually, I can convince people that she is a fox. I remember some kids saw her and asked if she was a fox and I said yes and one started asking his mom for a pet fox. It was awesome. But there was this one kid who I'd see on my old walking route sometimes and she always said she looked like a wolf when all the other kids said she looked like a fox. That kid was smart. Or at least very good at identifying lupine vs. vulpine features.

Wolf-dogs are not pointless.
I worked American Tundra Shepherd dogs, and they are wolf/dog hybrids. They are very intelligent and beautiful dogs, and they make better military dogs than any other breed. They are one of the only breeds with superior sight, smell, AND hearing [as in having all 3, not just one]. That is actually why the breed was created. We had obstacle courses for them to test their abilities. They also have webbed feet and are incredibly powerful swimmers.
Obviously an unexperienced/naive dog owner should not have one, and you should never leave a child alone with an animal big enough to drag it away regardless of breed. That being said I think they are probably the best dog breed I have ever seen/read about/come into contact with just because of their versatility and how freaking awesome they look. They're even skilled herding dogs [obviously since they are bred with German Shepherds...lol.] and can thrive in extreme weather, from arctic temps to desert conditions.
That's my opinion. Nothing wrong with adding a little something to an already good breed of dog to make it more useful. These dogs have saved lives and are perfectly suited to work along side the military, police, bomb squad, cadaver dogs, etc. But I don't think they should be given to people that just want the novelty of having a part-wolf or a dog that looks like a wolf.
