http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ahp2ajKpynISo that's how big they can get in 2 years and I'm sure they continue growing their whole life
Would you be able to get a tank large enough?
No i wont... i wont be able to get a dragonfish then.
I read in several places that they were only meant to get a foot to 16 inches long. My tank is two and 7/12 ths inches long , 2 ft. high and a foot and a half wide. so i thought i would be good. But one thing where the sites i researched on differed was size off the tank. Most said 29 gallons would be a minimum, one said 55 gallons minimum and some said it depends on how many plant you have, how much cover you have for the fish, how much oxygen is getting in the tank and how much filtration capacity you have.
Now i must look into senegal bichirs ^^ those are another option... i just want some sort of eel-like fish. I'm not looking for kuhli loaches though. With my experience, they tunnel under the substrate and die and then i have to look for them... i just havent had much luck with loaches because most of them come in to the petstore sick or disfigured so i try to get healthy ones, but it just doesn't work, so im not gonna get anymore for the time being at least until quality improves.

Bichir also get large.
Have you given any thought to peacock eels? Completely freshwater and generally max out aroud 6 inches, are fine in a30ish gallon tank.
Honey, it's in the stars
And you're my everything from here to Mars
And every word I say I truly mean
Dear darling, I hope I'm being clear
'Cause there's no one like you on earth
That can be my universe

In all honesty, i've never heard of them... not sure if my pet shop will order them, though. They would be great, and i do like them ^^ How much of a diameter will they get though?
i know right now they have a Schilbe intermedius (grass cutter catfish) that i like but i cant find much info on it.
EDIT I looked up caresheets on the peacock eels and they need at least 40 gallons and get up to 14" so im not sure about those
Still cant find info on this adorable little catfish... its in with a discus too ^^

Guppies can be kept in a 20 you just need to make sure you keep an eye on the population! They breed like rabbits!

I only have Walstad tank, but I've read a bit about aquascaping. c: Did you have any specific questions? Any certain plants you were planning on adding?

Will do!

How many adults can I keep at a time? I can give the babies to a nearby pet store if they decide they want to breed

Really, I've read quite a bit as well, but I still have no idea what plants would go well with my plan, other than Phoenix moss. I'm aquascaping my 20 gal female betta sorority.
Description so far:
Substrate=white eco-sand (the stuff with the fertilizer built in) at a slope with the highest plane at the back
Hardscaping=two large "mountain" structures in both back corners, several small stones scattered along the slope, some small pieces of driftwood scattered in the "valley" area
Flora=Pheonix moss as a groundcover on and around the two large stone "mountains", ??? (Preferably something grass-like)
Fauna=Female bettas, (possibly platties?)

Well, just got 3 more Agassizi Cory Cats. Now my emeralds school with the five total. The albino is alone and doesn't school with the others which worries me a lil because some websites say they will school with greens. There is also one of the 5 Agassizi cory's that doesn't want to school with the others most of the time and will sometimes just school with the albino.
I hope that Cory cats can grow fins back. At the store they were in a tank of skunk botias... which the person who runs the pet section says they are skunk corys... well i searched it and found what they are. I think the botias may have been a bit agressive to the three i had gotten.
