Not my dog but this little 4 month old medium sized poodle is Tucker he belongs to my college roommate Madi and he's working to eventually become a service dog.

There have been to many people reporting me and my roommate for using the go potty command [Someone apparently found the word potty offensive. People also got concerned about the petsafe e collar he wears and started complaining to the colleges housing people with the potty command and the e collar. Not sure why it's my roommate and I as we aren't the only ones with dogs here at the apartment complex.] We also had like two instances of us accidently stepping on his feet cause he's wiggly but people already assume we're mistreating him. We treat him well and he's a good boy.

[Basically it feels like someone just doesn't like us at this point cause the complaints are getting more and more ridiculous]

I am now being homeschooled.
Last week was the worst time of my life. One of my teachers was yelling at me because I was asking questions about the lesson. I wear glasses for math but she put me in the back of the class despite knowing that I was supposed to sit closer to the front.
All of a sudden, she says Justin is misbehaving and orders me to the principal's office. I get there, I'm not given a single chance to explain my side before she talks to my teacher and calls the police.
They come and immediately take Justin away. By now, my dad is there and arguing with everyone. I couldn't stop crying, I felt stuck in the moment, like it would never end. We finally get Justin back, I give the police my side of the story, they took my side, thankfully, and we left.
When we got home, I curled up in bed with Justin and cried my eyes out. It was so nerve wracking, I felt like I was about to have an anxiety attack and heart attack at the same time.
I have quit. Goodbye.

Oh gosh that is horrible what kind of person does that to someone with a service dog?

Honestly I hope you take legal action against them because that's just horrible.

Dude my roommate had a service dog last year too and it was the same stuff! I don't know what it is, I think some people just really don't like dogs or are jealous they can't have one and take it out on the SD owners. People would also get so mad about her dog playing! Yes she is a service dog, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't deserve a break from time to time! She is not a machine XD The school has even tried to enforce countless illegal and pointless rules on them, it's wild.

The college here works with service dog owners but it's the students that are the problem. The school didn't give us to much trouble regarding the potty command but I spoke to other staff members we were all laughing cause we thought it was dumb. Like do they want us to stop training him to potty on command.

We had conplaints that he was barking when we weren't in house to the point where they forced our hand to have to use a corrective e collar. It sucks but the noise complaints durimg the day mind you not at night are why he wears an e collar.

People literally where questioning if the dog was okay because he was barking like dudes he is a puppy he's 4 months in training to be service dog. We also can't bring him on campus due to his age without the schools permission making training with distractions impossible right now.

So while he's approved to stay in apartment the college is not doing a good job of letting us train him on campus. I help out by being the distraction

Honestly, I would but I'm done dealing with the horrible people who run that place.
We don't have the money for a lawyer or driving to our nearest city. I just used the money I had made helping the neighbors on a new crate for Justin. Food and vitamin expenses for both Justin and my dad's dog rack up quickly.
Aside from my crazy life, my boy is doing really well. I had to give away some of his toys to the local shelter. Although he still has a plethora of plushies, ropes and puzzles toys. I'd be nothing without him, he is my rock. All my spare time is for him, I can't explain how much of a difference one shelter dog has made in my life. It seems like years ago.
When Meeko was gone, I never thought I could have another dog. I never imagined I would be where I am now, with the light of my life by my side.
I have quit. Goodbye.

Sorry you and your roommate are having such problems. I can understand about the e-collar complaints though, as it's never necessary to use positive punishment to train a dog. It can also backfire horribly. I'd hate for a potential service dog to have to be washed out of training because they developed a problem due to use of an e-collar. Also my concern is that positive punishment doesn't address why the barking is happening in the first place. At that age I suspect it's a lack of alone training and/or some isolation distress or even the beginnings of separation anxiety; neither of which an e-collar with solve. At best it can mask the symptom, but does nothing to teach the puppy to be calm and relaxed when alone. Let me know I'd be happy to pass along some educational materials to help your roommate solve the barking problem.

I'd highly recommend your roommate increase the amount of exercise both physical and mental the puppy receives, especially before leaving him alone. Add an extra exercise session before going out, feed meals in puzzle toys, leave the puppy with safe things to occupy him while he's alone, etc. I know you're having trouble with the neighbors, but is there anyone your roommate would trust to stop in and play with/walk the puppy while they're away? Or somewhere he could be put in a daycare situation or someone hired to stop in and exercise him?

Sorry SDiT aren't allowed public access rights where you are, I imagine that makes training a lot more difficult.

Hey everyone! Happy Halloween!

Just a gentle reminder to make sure you keep them inside if there's fireworks, we dont want any babs running away <3 If they need to go potty take them out on a lead (even if your yard is secure) because fear can make your doggo do things they wouldnt normally do!

Id love to see pics if any of yall dressed your precious doggos up! Happy Halloween!

you dont have to pay lawyer ;)
just call go to Police or places who protect People with disabilities, and let them take legal action against this school, they endangered your health and safety, did tak away your SD dog and all other mean Thing they did or let people do...that is as i you take away a person without sight there stick or someone there wheelechair....
who knows with how many people this school and teacher did this an will do again.

They have to educate all teacher, talk with students and so on....and when you got a person next to your dog who comes with you to school to stand up for you, be at your side to help you and all that till things worked out and you can go alone with your dog.

You and you father ()and ther who have same Problems...) have more rights and protection than you may think. but for now it is good you are away from there and homeschooled^^

but write with your dad to some places and tell them what happened to you, so when you find the right School to go again it will not happen again and the old School will be punished.

- Is it possible to complain to the Committee if rights have been breached?
-......Yes. The Optional Protocol to the Convention establishes an individual communications procedure that permits individuals and groups in a State party to the Protocol to complain to the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities that the State has breached one of its obligations under the Convention. The complaint is known as a “communication”.
