Is anyone familiar with fin regrowth methods for goldfish? It's a serious case and all I know of is aquarium salt. Anyone know any other methods?
Here is the picture of the fish I'm talking about.

my tiger barbs get like that allll the time.
uUse melafix, and feed LOTS of high protein foods. Like mysis shrimp, bloodworms, and really good flake food twice to three times a day. The fins should come back in no time.
Also; that's a goldfish?! It's gorgeous, I wouldn't mind having a goldfish like that, haha.

Okay. Thank you, I have blood worms and will look for some Melafix!
And yes, he was a find a Walmart, actually. I was surprised. Jut felt bad for his fins.

salt.

add salt to the goldfish's water and not only will his fins grow back, but he will become stronger and be cleansed of parasites and other nasties he may have.

goldfish are tough lil buggers, he should pull through as long as you give him melafix, salt, or both, lots of meaty foods, and pieces of vegies like carrots and cucumber. at his size I would keep him (temporarily) in a 10-15 gallon tank so he can be monitored better. once its fins are big and bad again I would move him into a 30 or so gallon and maybe get one or two other goldfish of the same size so he has companions. once he(and maybe his friends) reach 5-6 inches long total(including fins, not just body), I would move them into a 55-75 gallon to live for the remainder of their lives.

good luck with him, hope he pulls through! he is very pretty for a pet store goldfish(very rare to find a goldfish that's not sarasa)

Thank you for the compliments on him! I currently have him in a 10 gallon, and deciding when I should add him with another goldfish in a 40 gallon. They're currently small and will look into upgrading up soon. I will keep you all updated. c:

Good luck with the goldfish! <33

I just got a pair of adorable gold dojo loaches. At first I was planning to fill my tank with really elegant, colorful fish, but these guys have such a great personality; I couldn't resist x3 Do you guys have any fish species you've had that have really great personalities/are fun to watch?
I'm traveling til Friday w/ no access to my tablet!

Mostly quitting CS; I'll check messages on occasion but DA or Skype is probably a better place to contact me.

I need a little refresh on cleaning tanks. I know the basics, but is there any way to go faster?
