What is the issue or question?:
I got my Betta just last Sunday and on Monday, I realised she had developed Ich as she had white spots covering her body which she didn’t have when I got her at the shop. I’m currently treating the tank and am hoping it gets better soon.
I do have another issue involving my black emperor tetra, there is one in particular that has been a particularly big bully. It constantly chases all the other fishes around, even her own kind and constantly trying to nip at their fins. It’s gotten worse since I had the Betta as I noticed she developed stress stripes the next day. I was worried that she’d damage the betta’s fins so I had her temporarily removed but I don’t know what to do. The people at the shop did say that they were peaceful but that particular one doesn’t seem very nice. However, I do see an improvement since I had it separated. The others seem to be doing fine and no one is being chased or harassed. I don’t plan to add anymore to the tank as I think it’s already at its limit. Please advice me on what to do.
This isn’t as big of a concern but I am a bit curious. I noticed that a few of my RCS in the smaller tank are carrying eggs. They’re still relatively new to the tank and I’m not too sure if they’re settling in well. I do have plants in there for them and they seem content. I checked this morning and had noticed 2 molts. Is melting a sign that they’re doing fine or it’s just coincidental? Also, how long does it take for guppy frys to grow? They’re still very small and I can just start to see colour show on some of their tail fins. About 2-3 of them have yellow on their tail fins. They’re born around 5 October.
Your stocking is a bit all over the place. A lot of those fish do best in big groups rather than in ones or twos or grow way too big for your tank.
Dwarf puffers tend to do best in species only tanks as they can be a bit aggressive, you generally want 18 litres per puffer so 5 in a 63 litre tank is too many. You might want to return them to your lfs.
Glass catfish need to be kept in groups of at least 5 and need at least 113 litres.
Kuhli loaches are social fish and do best in groups of at least 5. They'd be fine in your tank if you get a group and have sand.
Adonis plecos get
enormous. If you don't have a 700+ litre tank to move them into you might want to rehome them.
Not too sure what a albino hi fin red eye sucker fish is. If it's a pleco most are too small for your tank.
Dull-eyed royal and nugget Plecos again get way too big. You'll need at least 300 litres for them.
All your tetras do best in groups of at least 5 or 6, but a much bigger group would be ideal. We'd return all but one group and get more of whatever you decide to keep. Tetras can be nippy and stressed in small groups which is probably why your emperor tetra is being aggressive.
The endlers are fine but again would do best in a larger group.
So the problem with your betta is going to be water quality. Plecos are really messy fish and you have a lot of them. Even without all the plecos you're overstocked which is probably why your betta is stressed and has ich.
RCS are quite hardy and as long as the water is kept clean and stable should be fine. 10 guppies will outgrow 8 litres very quickly so as long as you move them your shrimp should be fine.
Molting is normal and as long as the water quality is good they'll be fine.
