Make sure the frogs are getting food. They tend to do best in species only tanks since they're quite slow and can't see very well.
Are you going with all male guppies or males and females?

Possibly males and females, No store near me really specifies their gender.

You don't need them to; it's pretty obvious with guppies. I'd recommend just males unless you want a whole lot of babies.

Yup yup it's easy to tell guppy gender.
Males have a stick shaped anal fin called a gonopodium, females have a fan shaped one.

If you don't want to be overrun with babies get all males. If you have plans for the dozens of guppies you'll end up with make sure you get 1 male to every 2 or 3 females so they don't get too harassed.

^The fin difference is pretty obvious even on younger fish. ^^ The adults also have different size/shaped bodies, males being lot leaner and sometimes smaller compared to the females. Usually the females are less colorful than males, but I think with fancy guppies this is no longer so distinct differance due selective breeding.

And speaking of guppies, or endlers to be specific. The super round female finally gave birth last night. :D I spotted at least 2 fry this morning(they are suuuper tiny). I really hope they don't get eaten though as I did see some chasing going around, but the babies were pretty fast and not everyone was ganging up on them.
Edit: Make that at least 6 fry.

Are they led or bulbs/tubes? With lights the thing is you can only fit certain thing to them, so I would suggest looking up what the original light is(type, wats etc.) and then searching does it come in different variations (like many aquarium light sluorescent tubes come in variety of color spektrums), and then go from there.

I think final endler fry count is 10. And they are sooo stinking cute when they hide on the lily pads or gather up in small groups. They are very good at hiding though and so far the parents have been pretty good about not eating/chasing them.

Big shrimp are a great training tool. Night crawlers are also a good option as they wiggle and gain attention.

Funny enough, I actually watch KingofDIY religiously. The Exodon (sp?) tank he has is what sparked my interest in these RBP.
A bit of an update on these little babies, they have began accepting frozen raw shrimp. They didnt really like the shrimp until it was cubed up tho. Funny little quirk, but im happy to do it. Might treat them to a bit of fish meat from my local fish market from time to time. Did a bit of deeper looking, and it looks like the key on these guys is a variety. Change up what they get from time to time, and they are rather happy.
They are also rather camera shy, but as soon as I can get a clear picture of them, I will share it :D

Ah, working at a fish shop is dangerous for your bank balance, heh. xD My 170 litre tank has been going well so far. So i finally did what i have been wanting to do for ages.
I've bought my five female Bettas for the tank. :o They are all Koi bettas and i totally fell in love with them the day they arrived. xD

Now yeah, i know some people don't like keeping females together- some say it can't be done, or it won't last but i want to try. I've been keeping an eye on them- both at work before i got them and since i got them and there have been only a few signs of aggression and they were in a considerably smaller tank at work for almost a week. My Swords and Mollies are more aggressive than all of them. I was kind of hoping the bettas would temper their aggression somewhat, but not at the moment.
They haven't bothered the Rams either that i have noticed. But then those two are just so chill. xD

Though all five of them are a bit on the smaller side of things, so perhaps that is why they aren't bothering with the slightly larger swords and Rams. We shall see anyway. I've only had them since monday.
I would love to breed one with my male though. But i only have the two tanks, so i am not sure if i could do it. Unless my boss has the babies when they can't stay with the male anymore.

Will try to get some photos though.

Well, im having a bit of a moral battle. The 3 Piranha I have refuse all food but live, i have almost lost them to starvation while trying to switch them over. Ever since I got my boyfriend's school of about 15 sailfins, I have been just removing the fry into another tank when I notice them, growing them, and using them as a food source. I thought this was a good idea given the situation, i cant keep all the fry, and mollies are healthier than goldfish.
Well, my boyfriend is now angry with me for the fact of that i have been doing this. Tells me its cruel and unusual, and that if I cant switch the piranha over to frozen, I should just keep trying, because they will eventually accept it.
Maybe he is right, and I should just keep trying frozen and stop with the molly fry. Im just afraid to try again. Last time, it got to the point where the Piranha had no energy and would lay on the bottom of the tank, until I broke down and bought them a small bag of feeders.
I just want to do right by these Amazon Puppies, as I call them. I love them very much.

As long as the fish are being eaten quickly (humanely), there is nothing wrong with feeding live. I breed bettas and the general rule of thumb for culling is that the fish they are being fed to has to be big enough to eat them in one gulp. Betta fry are how I intend to feed the water snake I'm getting next summer, and I even have some fairy shrimp eggs I intend to hatch/grow/breed to create more so that I can feed the bettas fairy shrimp in the winter, then collect mosquito larva and bloodworms in the summer. It's life.

Yesterday I bought a new betta at Petco, and the first several hours after I got him, he was doing just fine. He was swimming normally, was very active, and ate a couple bloodworms I offered him. But then during the night he suddenly declined, and now he's swimming sideways, won't eat anything, and he's really lethargic. He seems bent into an S shape and his fins are clamped, too. He is occasionally flaring at his reflection so he's responsive. I'm thinking it's swim bladder disease and I plan in fasting him for a few days but I'm so worried. I already love this little guy.
