Bears are just as cool as wolves!

They are cool. They, like all predators, definitely need to be respected. I wish more people would take precations when out and about in the wilderness, and that people would stop doing things like feeding bears. Bear bells actually attract bears now, rather than scare them away, thanks to people being careless with food. In general we're pretty good up here with humanely relocating bears and cougars that are becoming too dangerous for humans, but sometimes they come back and end up needing to be shot.
I don't know what my spirit animal would be. I think it'd be a crow though; I just feel a connection to crows. Or maybe a cougar? As a kid I had an imaginary cougar that would follow me around lol. Is there anything you had to do to find out your spirit animal?
I don't have any Zuni fetishes, but I do have a spirit token with an orca on it: http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t33/ ... CF1669.jpg

Black bears, like wolves and caribou, are also classed as least concern. Least concern does not automatically mean overpopulated.

I'm technically cherokee, not zuni xp but I like the fetishes, and the zuni were known to make them for other tribes, especially the navajo.
My true spirit animal is a hawk :)
My exotic spirit animal is a cheetah :)

Bear, Hawk, and Cheetah are my trio<3

N.Americans would go on spirit journeys to find their spirit guides. I consider the bear to be my guide/protector, while the hawk is my true spirit animal. Spirit animals are animals that lived near the tribes, so a cheetah would not be one, I just like them :)

The percentage of Native in me is zero, but I love the culture of it out here on the coast. When you live here, you can't help but be drawn in. The beautiful art is all over the place; buildings, mandalas, paintings, and even actual totem poles. B.C. even changed the name of The Queen Charlotte Islands back to Haida Gwaii (kayaking through Haida Gwaii/Gwaii Haanas is on my bucket list). It saddens me how little of the culture was held onto in Alberta.

Why didn't I see this earlier?
I support. Hunting is needed whether you like it or not.

Welcome Summerflow, I was wondering when you would show up c:

And let's face it, without hunting all animals would be doomed. Plus, if you are going to scream at humans for hunting, all meat-eaters do, go yell at a mountain lion and see how he reacts c:

Because lets face it, if we never hunted wolves, we'd probably have them living in our backyards right now. C:
Lol'd at the mountain lion part.
