How often do you let the girls out their cage and do they have enough mental stimulation? Do they chew anything else as much when you remove the hammock completely out of the cage? Some toys just don't do it from the wide range of personality types. Sometimes they chew because of low mental stimulation other times they chew because they just want to. Some behaviours are harder to train out than others, and other times you just can't train it out.
