Alright guys thanks!
What are the signs of labor in goats? I know most of them, but one of my does just... isn't being her. We thought she was in labor on Easter afternoon, but with no babies here still, we are starting to question... I'm not sure how much I can put here, but she sometimes gets a kind of dazed, almost glazed over look to her eyes, she sometimes just seems to not be in the mood to eat, she paws and stomps her back hooves extensively, she seems to talk to the wall, shes getting very clingy with us, her hip bones are starting to stick out more, and her tail area feels very mushy, and we saw some discharge on Sunday and yesterday... Do you guys think shes okay? She also had some things that seemed a lot like contractions... If she got pregnant the day we brought the buck over, her due date would be yesterday.
Everyday, it's getting closer...

First babies of the year are here! Okay, well, baby, lol! Unfortunately it isn't mine, so my first babies of the year aren't here, but it
is at my house, so close enough! My niece's 1st Generation Mini Nubian doe had a doeling this morning, and she's even moonspotted and polled! We just love her, my niece and I have named her Cookie Dough.

I'll edit pictures in soon!
@Hens: Sounds like it could be any time, I'd keep a close eye on her, especially if she's a first timer!
EDIT: pictuuuures!

Those are all sounding like signs of labor to me, Or atleast getting there. Is she starting to make much milk yet(bagging up)? That can be a sign but not always the most accurate considering all goats are different. Especially since its her first kidding, right? Watch for pushing. They might get bossier with other goats or animals. She sounds fine to me, Im guessing you'll probably have kids sometime in the next couple days.

Well, we have kids! Not from the doe I have been talking about, though, lol. Persephone, my bigger doe, delivered a healthy buck and doeling on Earth day! Mama had a few problems during delivery, but she's doing much better now. The buck, Orion, came out weighing 7.7 pounds, and the little girl, Chloe, came out weighing 6.6 pounds. They both are very hyper and have a healthy appetite. I gave the goats their grain at 1, with no signs yet in Persephone, and at 2 when we checked on her, she was in labor. After two hard contractions, Orion was born at 2:15. Chloe was born at 2:20. With their mom being a first time mama, she completely ignored Chloe for a good hour or so, but has accepted both of them.
Chloe
Orion

Those kids are adorable! I have yet to post pictures of our 12 kids. I'll try to do so soon. They're all getting so big! Sadly I'll have to be posting the 6 buck kids for sale soon though. The kids are still with the does unless we put the does outside. And when we do that, At night the goats are so full and usually have around 3/4 to 1 gallon of milk! (Quite a bit for a goat considering once kids are separated they make close to 2 gallons a day) So I'll try posting kid pics soon. They move so much its hard to get good pictures!

I am happy to announce that Aurora had her baby, a healthy little girl, yesterday! She is our first goat that has blue eyes! The little girl looks a lot like Orion, although she is a much darker red color. She has white lips, almost like she is wearing lipstick! We haven't came up with a name for her yet. Aurora and Persephone are doing great, and they are both recovering well. Orion and Chloe are doing great too! Chloe is the lighter baby, and Orion is the one who has the white spot on his nose.
Edit!We decided to name the little girl Faylinn, meaning Fairy Kingdom!

Hi c:
I have 5 goats and what i believe to be 2 on the way. My family has lived on farm property for at least eight years and we never put anything here. We decided to start off with chickens, then rabbits, then goats. We love our goats very much. At first we got 2 does, Turtle and Darling, and then got a buck to breed them. Our roommate got a goat that got pregnant and had 2 does last year, but they moved away. Our buck impregnated Turtle without us knowing, so one day, Turtle had a buck and a doe. She didn't have a very good kidding, lots of screaming and..Liquids >-<. Well a few months later the baby doe, Jessa, got pregnant by her own father. We were scared the babies would come out as siamese twins, but they were very healthy. We named them Bow and Bear. They unfortunately died. Jesse is pregnant again now, and we think she is in labor. I'm excited! However, we think the father is her brother. This could be a very messed up baby :c Anybody want to chat about goats? :3
