Re: Geckos!!! Leopard, Banded, Tokay, Panther.... any kind!

Yea, that's the other reason I wish they had fatter tails. I know with a lot of geckos the fatter the tail means the healthier your pet, but tokays have those silly whip tails that aren't supposed to plump up like a leo or a fat-tail. I suppose though that since I haven't had a leopard gecko, I'll be able to get used to not seeing a fat tail on it easier than someone who's got experience with them :3

I'm so used to leopard geckos that I automatically think that EVERY reptile without a fat tail is super underweight. I can't help it, I just looked at that Tokay baby and flinched because I thought it had been neglected, then I re-read your post and laughed at myself.

Obsessed leopard gecko woman is obsessed >w>

I am obsessed too xD
When I was in mexico there were wild baby golden geckos they were sooooo cute!!! :D

Ive had my beardie for almost a week and he shows no sign of shedding yet. Should I be worried?

I found this, someone else asked the exact same question:

I'm not finding a specific time frame, but juvinies shed more foten than full grown dragons do. If you've had yours for only a week then maybe its eaither not ready to shed yet, has just shed before you purchased it, or will start tomorrow, you never can tell. When it needs to though the skin will start to peel.

Oh, on a note: when it does shed, bathing the dragon in warm water will help keep the skin loose and make the shed easier. You'll also want to keep an eye on when the toes shed because sometimes the skin gets rolled up and doesn't get shed, resulting in cut of circulation to the toes, which then die. I didn't keep a good enough eye on it and now my dragon is missing two toes. Live and learn. ^.^

I am very experienced with keeping Leopard gecko's and currently own one named Ichigo, he is a male and I am working on socializing him as he wasn't socialized as a baby. :)

Another leopard gecko owner! I've got a beautiful female named King. :3 I'll put up a picture of her later.

Primrose I'm very jealous of your dragon - ive always wanted one ;w;

Went reptile food shopping today. c: I bought a box of crickets, tub of waxworms and a box of locusts. I'll feed the locusts first because they die very, very quickly. They're expensive to buy so the gecko's treat them as delicacys, haha. My leo loves them. :3

aeiou: [I like your username! xD] Awww, I can't wait to see a picture of her! c: Lucky little Leo...Getting Locusts!

I only feed my Leopard gecko Crickets, because Meal-worms and wax-worms are very hard to digest and shouldn't be fed on a regular basis. ;) Ichigo my Leopard gecko is in a 40 gallon tank with lots of plants that he loves to climb on! xD

    x3 thanks<3

I dont normally feed her mealworms - sometimes I get them to replace the crickets when I run out of them, but we've only ever finished two tubs and I've had my girl for about 6 - 7 months now. I feed her waxworms because she loves them, they're easy tickets to a fat tail and she associates being handled with them. She's a very docile / placid girl.

I use her to educate younger children about reptiles, but she was a random buy from a store that buys their stock from breeders, so her personality was purely due to chance and a good upbringing. I take her into classes of 8 to 10 year olds and tell them how to feed, care for and handle leopard geckos like her, then she'll be placed into the hands of a child I know is scared of them so that I can remove that fear and replace it with admiration for leopard geckos.

I don't know the size of my tank, I know it's 2ft long and 1ft high. It has two hides, two bowls and plenty of space. Thinking about adding a few fake plants for her to investigate. She loves investigating things. I built a large house out of Lego and when I was handling her she kept going towards the "doors", so I let her go in there and check everything out. It had no roof so I could watch her, there was no dust or any danger there.

My beardie is in a 55 gallon tank. Its pretty funny because he's only about 4 inches long and its hard to find him. Lol. Im currently feeding him crickets everyday and a salad which varies in igrediants. Is there anything else I could feed him at a young age? Ive only had him a week.

Aeiou: Lol He's adorable but he's been kinda fiesty the past two days. Should I be worried because he was fine the days before that.
