thats so narrow minded. theres avidence that wolves and humans CAN live together pecefully!! wolves dont often take dogs at least id never herd of it,please back up your argument
What do you mean exactly by "live together peacefully?"
Wolves do kill dogs; not extremely often but it does happen:

lol ok. i can't back up my argument because the video's that i've seen probably go against the rules here. go looking for the videos on your own terms, they're very easy to find.

Wolves eat dogs all the time, especially over in eurasia. Like, it's pretty blatant. "A Haines woman beat back a wolf with a ski pole but was unable to keep it from killing and devouring one of four dogs she was walking with during a midday ordeal near 40 Mile Haines Highway." We can't really post proof here, but you can find it instantly by googling "wolf eats dog" or something similar.

I've been against hunting since I was probably in preschool. I don't hate people who hunt, I just personally could never ever shoot an animal. Growing up with my moms side, they're all hunters and huge meat eaters so I've been able to see all this stuff up close. So as for hunting of wolves ( any animal), I will just always feel terrible when I hear of it and that's just me.
As for wolves, it wasn't until grade 2 that I read a book called Julie's Wolf Pack and I realized wolves aren't just mythical creatures made up to scare children. I look back on that now and it's just extremely grim. Since that, I fell in love with wolves among all other animals. In grade 3, I decided my dream job was to be a Biologist. I knew it was very unlikely I'd get a job I want, but it's still something I'm working towards today. I believe wolves are equal to every other animal and humans are equal to all of them.
Now sorry for that lil life story, I just felt like putting it out there and you don't have to read it.
Also, I'm going to leave this link here. It's happening in Canada in the province I live in, and I pray none of you are in the dark enough that you find this is okay.

I think wolves are absolutely amazing animals.
I believe wolves are widely misunderstood animals. A lot of people see wolves and think that they are vicious animals, and in folklore, quite frankly, it saddens me how often they are depicted as evil characters. They are just predators that do their part in the ecosystem. I do realize how they can cause problems for farmers when they go after livestock, but I do not believe that a wolf would go after livestock in normal situations unless it was desperate or starving, but as it is, it seems that caribou and wolf populations both are not as high as they should be, and it can be a very hard life to live as a wolf.
Every animal and plant is important for the survival of other animals and they are all vital to the ecosystem. I wish people understood wolves more and stopped judging them harshly and stopped having strange personal feelings against them before being informed or understanding them.
They are of course wild animals, and people tend to expect wild animals to sometimes do things unexpectedly, and they can. But they are not evil. Quite honestly, I don't believe that animals can be evil.
I love wolves, and many other animals, and I think that wolves are beautiful animals. Their teamwork impresses me and their beauty is undeniable, they are gorgeous canines and their synergy is quite impressive. I love that they share their prey with ravens sometimes, too. I just find wolves to be very fascinating animals, and I really love to study about them. ^^

Ahh, not exactly trying mod or get anyone here in trouble or anything, but please refrain from saying anything rude to peoples comments. I'm starting to scroll back and find comments such as,"What the hell?" "Thats stupid!" or for instance,

Many people I have seen or known love wolves dearly and do not like the fact that others are making them extinct. Yes, you may state your own opinion, just try to say it in a kind manner.
Again, I don't intend on geting you guys in trouble, but I simply don't want this thread to get off topic and locked.

I was not saying "What the hell" towards the poster; I was saying it to the article itself.
Edit: As well as I don't consider "hell" to be rude. When I'm in that much shock that's relatively tame to what I wanted to type.

Not saying your opinion is wrong, as you are entitled to it, but I am wondering: if you are concerned about overpopulation, why are you not also concerned about regional extinction? Both scenarios can throw an ecosystem into turmoil. For instance, if there are too many wolves, there won't be enough prey animals, but if wolves are gone altogether, the prey animals themselves will overpopulate.
If I recall correctly, mr.robot is in the UK. Wolves have been extinct there for a very long time, so by this point the ecosystem has already adapted to be without them.

For reference: in my country, we control the population with seasonal hunting.
Yeah, I am also concerned about regional extinction but there is very little to no point in me being worried about it within my own country. We are a small island, wolves, bears, etc. would just not do well here anymore. There are not many places in the U.K., barring scotland and wales, that are appropriate for them. Basically, population control, in my eyes, should go like this:
Too many wolves + not enough prey = cull wolf numbers
Too much prey + not enough wolves = cull prey numbers
If they're stable, don't touch 'em, and so on.
