Hey, dunno if I've posted n here before!
I'm Syelf, and I've been a handler of Royal Pythons for over 25 years! Currently we have two of the species; my personal favorite is our pastel x pinstripe ("lemonblast") male named Evan. We also have a spider enchi female.
I've worked with several other species but my favorites are Burmese and Royal Pythons. I really enjoy the demeanor of Royal Pythons and admire their intelligence. I really love their sweet disposition. I also love the Burmese Pythons because they're fun if handled properly. My dad used to have a 14 foot female, albino and blind, who I adored and handled regularly.
My least favorite species is the Rosy Boa, which is the only species I've received an aggression bite from. They are... not my favorites in the slightest. I also am not too keen on California Kings, but they can be pleasant. Of the three I've worked with, two (both males) were jerks and one (a female) was a lovely and friendly individual. Handling makes a huge difference for them.
I'm looking into another snake this fall, when the convention circuit rolls back down the east coast. Getting reptiles in summer here is risky.

OOF, I HAVE BEEN ATTACKED. Jk jk hahaha, I love rosy boas and handle them a lot, and most people don't really think much about them at all, so it's kinda funny to me that they're your least favorite. They're also the species that I've taken the most bites from by far. They're native to where I live, along with Cal Kings, so I'm biased towards them despite their... interesting personalities. Nice to meet you! It's super cool that you've been into royals for so long!

Do you have a snake?
Yes, indeed I do have three wonderful snakes. Two cornsnakes and one royal python. Chesster is my normal cornsnake, Hikikimori (Hiki for short) is a hypo pewter pied lower white cornsnake. And Khaffélatte (Kha for short) is my normal royal python.
None of them are silver though. Sadly.

Nice! I've never seen that corn morph - had to look it up and was v e r y impressed. I'm really glad to have found this thread; I've been thinking about getting involved in more snake communities. So, uh, here goes.

Why you want to join:
I want to connect with other snake users, hear their stories and experiences and increase my herp knowledge through the advice of other more experienced owners. I obviously adore snakes. I have since I was a teeny tiny kid and first met my uncle's red-tailed boa, Twist. She was the sweetest snake. My sister and never felt the least bit afraid to have a nine-foot-long thirty pound constrictor on our shoulders. That kind of kick-started it for me. They're my passion, and also what got me into rats. I'm looking to breed super mystics and mystic phantoms once the girls have a little more weight on them, haha.
Do you have a snake?
Yes; I have five ball pythons. Basil (my first, my baby) a spinner. Ginger, a pastel mystic. Oregano, a mystic. Saffron, an enchi pinstripe. And Juniper, a phantom I'm very excited to get this upcoming week. Personally, not sure if mystic/phantoms are genetically different (though there's variation in every morph that can make two mojaves look totally different, and one snake's pattern cleaner than another's) but it will be fun to try out.

^Welcome both of you!
A question for the thread: what is your dream snake? Can be as broad or as specific as you'd like!
Mine is a king ratsnake (Elaphe carinata). I met one years ago named Mr. Chow and immediately fell in love. They aren't particularly hard to obtain, but I just don't have the space for a big, active colubrid right now.

Good choice! Bananas are super cute, and I love the dark spots they get, just like bananas lol. Welcome to the thread!
