Farewell ten

Trust to the last

Currently my dog is on ProPlan(the salmon kind), but I'd like to switch her to something like Blue Buffalo. Is the 'sensitive stomach'(it could just be 'sensitive', I don't remember) salmon + potato stuff any good? I can get a picture of the ingredients the next time I run into Petsmart.

Your choice is your choice. The point of this thread is pet education, not to make people feel bad about what they're feeding. If you have educated yourself on the matter at hand, weighted the pros and cons, and still find S/D a great food.. Awesome, good for you.
I will say this though: Just because its recommended by a vet does not make it any better than any other food. Vets are humans and therefore limited by education and experiences. Some vets completely reject S/D, while others worship it. Its up to you, the pet owner, to make your own decision after proper research.
While on the topic of S/D, many vets have very little official nutrition education. In most institutes the nutrition courses are paid off by Science Diet, or Purina, or IAMs. Its rather screwed up because the national vet association have done studies on the affects of BHT and BHA and their finding showed that at worst these two chemicals sped up the formation and growth of tumors, often cancerous, and at best they simply promoted tumor growth. Guess who's a big supporter of Science Diet, which contains BHT and BHA?
